Sheri
and her long-time boyfriend, Jason, have been best friends since high school.
Things really heated up for them in 2004, and they were married on April 30, 2005.
Sheri and Jason own a home in Arizona, where housing is a heck of a
lot more affordable then here in California!
Sheri's other best friend is her mom... the two of them are alike in many ways. Sheri's also very good with our Cocker Spaniels, and not a bad photographer, too! You can check out some of the pictures that Sheri has taken here.
Sheri attended Cal Poly State
University in San Luis Obispo, as well as our local community college...
where she majored in child development. Speaking of which, are the
newlyweds planning on developing any children of their own? Nothing is in
the works at this point... but knowing Sheri & Jason as we do, we suspect
that we'll be grandparents sometime in the next few years!
Jeff is our 21-year-old son. He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in June of 2004, attended Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo for several years, and will be finishing up his degree at San Diego State University. He has been technology oriented since an early age, and those who meet Jeff quickly realize that he has skills WAY beyond what you would expect in someone his age.
Jeff is
totally consumed by an interest in video production. It started by just
fiddling around with our camcorder at home when he was a young kid... in junior
high school he
helped produce the school's video yearbook... at the age of 16 he was
directing several TV shows as a volunteer at the local cable company's public
access TV studio... and at the ripe old age of 17 he landed a real job
with the local NBC-TV affiliate, where he is involved in all of the technical
aspects of their
nightly newscasts. He does everything from editing together video that was
shot in the field, mixing audio feeds, creating graphics, and even quite
frequently gets to be the guy in the control room directing the whole show.
in action! These are not staged photos of him pretending to run the
controls. This 21-year-old whiz kid really is the guy at the control board
directing the whole thing during several of KSBY's live newscasts each week.
Jeff's timing certainly was good. KSBY used to be the classic small market TV station skimping by with aging equipment in a beat-up old building it had long ago outgrown. For years they talked about building a new state-of-the-art broadcasting complex... and finally, after going through several changes in ownership, they had the money to do it. After years of planning and construction, the station finally moved in to a beautiful new building featuring the broadcasting studio of their dreams just about the time Jeff was getting serious about wanting to work there. These days, that state-of-the-art facility is his playground.
Jeff's hard work all along the way has definitely paid off for him. Each of the little things he has succeeded at has opened the next door to something bigger and better for him. He's very happy with his current situation, yet it's interesting to think where this might lead him to next.
Unlike your typical teenagers, Jeff is easy to get along with and stays out of
trouble. He also managed to pick up a bit of his father's goofy sense of humor... this guy has a way of making
me laugh out loud like nobody else I know can! Find out more about Jeff by
