Hi everyone. I know this is a subject that has been hashed over time and time again ...but I am looking for a different food for Scout and would just like all the members to let me know what dog food they are currently feeding so I can tally it up to see what seems to be the most popular. This will not be a discussion as to which food is better than the other - I am just interested in finding a new food. Thanks for your input :sml

Hi Jackie,

I guess I'll start. :happy

Currently I feed Acana Ranchlands kibble in the morning and Nature's Variety Instinct Raw -Beef at night. Chessie has been on the Acana for almost a year with good results... the NV was started about a month ago and she is doing well on it too.

Good luck finding what works best for Scout!

Jackie,

We feed Reese "Taste of the Wild (with smoked salmon)." No problems and she loves it.

We feed Nature's Variety Raw Diet in Beef for Max. Max also liked (and did well on) NV's kibble, specifically the turkey and tomato, when we fed kibble. They have several flavors including LIDs so if I had to go back to kibble that's where I'd go first.

Have been very happy with Dick Van Pattons Bison and Sweet Potato....lower in protein, which my girl Cassie needs, and have also tried the DVP Salmon and Whitefish, both of which are grain free. No ear or skin problems....and both seem to minimize the "poop"

We use Blue Buffalo Wilderness, High Protein, Grain Free, Chicken Flavor. Our dogs love it and have done great on it so far.

Wellness CORE Low-fat as a kibble. I add homemade food to that.

Nature's Domain Sweet Potato and Salmon - found at Costco.
Have been feeding this for about a year or more - with no problems.
I also add a few pieces of raw meat on top of the kibble at dinner time.
I cut up steak or beef roasts when I find something in my freezer that needs to be used up or has started to get some freezer burn.

Nature's Variety Instinct Raw (chicken) for breakfast and EVO Weight Management kibble with a spoonful of pumpkin for supper. Fruits and veggies for snacks. Works perfect for us.

Another vote for Nature's Domain Sweet Potato and Salmon - found at Costco.
(The price is right: 90 cents/lb. and it's grain free.)
I sometimes add veggies on top. Cricket loves it!

For Tucker: any Nature's Variety Instinct Raw (he loves Lamb, Beef, and Venison...only so-so on the Bison - no chicken).
For Piper: Nature's Variety Instinct Limited Ingredient Lamb - the only thing I've found so far that works for her tummy issues. I like that they use Tapioca instead of potato as their starch source and it smells like green tea from the coating and not like stinky meat.

Good luck with Scout!

Hi Jackie, I feed Cooper Natural Balance - Venison and Sweet Potato. It's the only thing he has been able to have solid bowels with.

Hi Lisa!!! How are you and Chessie? Wow she's doing good on the raw? That's great!

Hi Jackie
Well presently I am feeding ours Canine Plus Lifetime. Its a Canadian pet food and its Corn Free, Wheat Free, and by Product Free. My three are eating the Chicken and Oatmeal and really like it. They also have a Fish & Oatmeal a Lamb & Oatmeal and Chicken,Turkey & Oatmeal. As you can see its not Grain Free but my pups are doing good on it so far and they have been eating it for a couple months now. With all the recalls I am going to stick with this food for awhile at least and maybe switch it up to one of the others from this brand.
It's put out by Nutreco Canada Pet Nutrition in St Marys Ontario and available at Pet Value and the price isn't bad either.

Gromit has food allergies, so she eats Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diet, either the chicken and sweet potato or the Sweet potato and fish varieties. It made a huge difference in her itchy skin! She doesn't have a sensitive tummy, so switching her foods doesn't bother her. But within a couple of weeks she went from scratchy to itch-free. It was amazing.

We use Natural Balance limited ingredients.Every flavor except fish and lamb. Fish gives her bad breathe and the lamb is her soft stool.

Nature's Instinct Limited Ingredient Lamb & tapioca. Plus I add cooked meat, rice and veggies. It took care of Katie's tummy troubles.

When in question I go to Amazon and read the reviews on that item. Good luck.

Can't please some people all the time.
