JMHO but it's completely likely that parvo runs rampant there so one more dog having it makes no difference. Yes, the vet was wrong to hide the actual diagnosis, but let's all be assured that this vet has pulled Romeo through an incident that many dogs, even under the best veterinary care, do not pull through.

Know that parvo is a very hardy virus. You shouldn't bring anymore unvaccinated puppies to your house for at least two years, even after spraying everything down with a 1:30 bleach solution. Romeo runs no risk of being re-infected but other puppies are at high risk. Adult dogs, even if they contract parvo, usually do fine as the disease is self limiting in an adult.

I'm so happy Romeo is doing so much better. :Clap

How sad the vets don't appear to be proactive in keeping the parvo contained in India. Now that you know, you can help spread the word. Parvo is so very contagious. Please take Julie's advice.

Hugs to Romeo - we look forward to seeing his pictures as he grows.

It's not constipation, there is nothing there for him to poop. He hasn't eaten in the better part of a week, and the entire lining of his intestines shed at the same time. Give it a couple of days and you should see poop happen. It will be a good day when you see a nice solid poop again. :sm

I hope your Romeo si doing much better. Personally my Holly's stomach does not take rice well. She gets diarrhea with it. When she was a pup I hadher on a rice formula and she always had diarrhea. Every time I have gave her rice she has diarrhea so I realized the rice is not for her. Hope Romeo is better soon. I am so sorry for all the troubles.

When our pups are sick, "lincoln log" poos are a good sign. That's what we call them.

Glad to hear Romeo is perking up.

Are you increasing his food each day? Now that he's feeling better, he might just plain be hungry.

Hey maybe he is just showing his feelings. In the positive way count your blessings, he is barking and having an attitude. Last week he was in the doors of the rainbow bridge with his stink with Parvo. Unless you think he is sick let him be, wait until he is back from the Parvo problem and then tackle the issue. I am glad he is barking that means he feels better. Check his tummy, palpate him and see if there is any signs of pain or discomfort. If everything seems ok, just correct him, redirect him and kiss him a lot, he has been throught a lot. Good luck.

I agree its potato for cockers no rice. When the dog is strong enough leave the skin on the chicken they need quite a high fat content.Add carrot well cooked and mashed and any other veg high in vitamin A.
