Hi All,
After a month off from agility (so I could do tracking and so Mom could go to a planning meeting for Cocker Nationals - Reno 2013), we were back at it today. Some success: Rosey Q'd in jumpers for 2 MACH points (bringing her MACH count to 724; only 26 left). I did even better; I Q'd in jumpers and earned 4 MACH points (don't ask me how many I have; Mom really isn't keeping track yet).

Rosey didn't Q in standard because Mom tried to use a blind cross instead of a front cross with Rosey . Don't know what she was thinking with that one! Rosey is clueless about blind crosses . Mom is blaming it on chemo brain. I didn't Q in standard because I dropped a bar on the triple jump . I guess I was just too out of practice to jump that far first thing in the morning.

We are going again tomorrow. Depending how Rosey does, Mom will figure out what trials to enter so that Rosey (hopefully) can earn her MACH title in April.

IT WAS A DOUBLE DOUBLE DAY

Rosey and I both got double q's. This is Rosey's 30th; and my 2nd. Though I get brag that I earned more MACH points on my runs than Rosey did. I earned 19 points today for a total of 23 for the weekend.
Rosey earned 16 today for a total of 18 for the weekend. More importantly, this brings her to 740 MACH POINTS, Only 10 points to go ..

Ok, Star, book your plane ticket. The Rosey MACH WATCH is on for April 13 - 15, Walnut, CA. Rosey and Mom will have 6 chances to earn a total of 10 points. If they do -- it will be a big celebration . If they don't, Mom will be drowning her sorrows and figuring out when to try again for the big event.

And once Rosey gets done with her MACH, I get more of Mom's time for agility .

My mom wants me to ask what is Rosey's favorite treat? I think she's preparing a little gift for the huge event.

Mom has sent the 4 Legged Flix videographers an email asking them if they are really going to be at the trials 4/13-15. The trials are listed as "tentative" -- but then all of their April listings are listed as tentative. This is common for them so Mom isn't really concerned they won't be there.

Rosey's favorite treat --- gee, she isn't very fussy. "Fresh" anything rather than freeze-dried is about the only distinction.

UPDATE -- Mom just checked the 4 Legged Flix site and the "tentative" has been removed from the 4/13-15. The videographer will be there. Mom is sending in our entry in the morning!

The Karlie and Kaitlyn Lu clan will also be there to see Rosey's runs. In fact it looks like Karlie will be running too, in Novice of course, so should be fun for all. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I'm just reading this post. Congrats - sorry I didn't congratulate you in person earlier today, Rosey. April 13 - 15? I'll put that on my calendar now so if I'm around I'll come to watch. I've been wanting to see you in action for quite some time now.

This morning we got to see Rosey doing a great demonstration of her tracking skills. Her wonderful mommy set a few trails for Sadie to try. Sadie loves to have her nose to the ground, so she was in HEAVEN! And can you imagine, she found turkey on the ground, why it was even on a glove or two!

Sure hope to see you MJ and maybe Sadie too. Great news about Sadie's introduction to tracking, I'm hoping to be able to meet up with Colleen and Rosey in the not so distant future and learn to lay a track and see how Kaitlyn Lu does, if there is food involved I'm sure she'll be in heaven also.

Glad you enjoyed the tracking experience. Sadie is a natural. She is making corners on her first outing.

The schedule for the 4/13-15 (Friday - Sunday) will come out around 4/7. Unlike conformation trials where the scheduled ring time tends to be very accurate, in agility things are more in flex. We always know when things will start, and they start on time!, but after that it is an estimation of how long it will take to finish classes. If the dogs are running clean, the event moves faster. If the dogs are dropping bars or if the handlers take longer at the start to get the dog ready to run, then things slow down.

You might be surprised at how fast dogs get hooked on following the scent and start skipping the food drops. Sadie was going by some of the food drops by her 3rd track.
