Thanks Jim I am glad Amazon is back. I am needing to get a few new grooming items and I get them from Amazon.

I buy my dog food from Amazon and will be Christmas shopping soon. (no tax/free shipping). I'm assuming if I use the link Jim provided - the commission will be automatic?

That's correct... it all happens in the background automatically... as long as you start by clicking one of our links to Amazon.

I'm sure we will. If you want me to check, just to be sure, just tell me what one of the items you ordered was... And I'll verify that it's on the list of things we were paid a commission for.

I get a daily report of what products were purchased. Of course, to protect your privacy, it does not give me any information about who purchased it. (So, whoever bought the underwear earlier this month... I'll never know.) :lol2

Special thanks to whoever bought the $300 book about respiratory medicine a few days ago. There was a nice commission on that! :wv

Jim: one item was 35 lbs of Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul $39.99 - I just want to be sure I did it right and all future orders go to you. BTW - no underwear. :neen

I'll check on that tomorrow. I don't get a report on items ordered today... until tomorrow.

Carol, I don't think you did it quite right... as I've got a report of all orders made through 10/30 and it is not on there.

So, to summarize the correct way to shop at Amazon so that the Zim forum gets a commission from the sale:

1. Start by clicking on any one of the following: the Amazon logo in the lower left corner of the forum, the link to Amazon up at the very top of the forum, the banner ad for Amazon at the bottom of the first post in this thread, or any of the Amazon banner ads anywhere at ZimFamilyCockers.com

2. This will take you to Amazon.com

3. Begin shopping!

By the way, BIG THANKS to all of you who have already ordered the brand new Kindle Fire through one of our links!

Image

Every order of a Kindle Fire through one of our Amazon links is just like making a $10 donation to the forum to help cover our server costs. :wv

(Clicking on the picture of the Kindle Fire will take you to the Kindle store at Amazon.com and the Zim forum will get credit for any purchases.)

Jim,
Do gift card purchases for Amazon count? I just bought one after going through the link on here.

They certainly do count. So, thanks for using our forum link to Amazon! :wv

Another thing that you might not think of is eBooks for the Kindle. Those all count... as long as you go through our link to get to Amazon first.

Once again, thanks to everyone for helping keep the forum in the black. I really appreciate it. There was a moment last year, after we retired from Cocker breeding, when I was thinking to myself that if I was ever going to shut the forum down that it was the perfect time to do so at that point. But in weighing the pros and cons of continuing to operate the forum, one huge factor was that it is totally self-supporting financially. So, thanks to everyone who has been using our Amazon links, the forum has stayed online and it has really been a good thing for lots of Cockers and their owners. :th-up

I just ordered a couple of Blu Ray's through the link and I need to remember to order my Kindle books in the future! Thanks for all you do, Jim! :th-up

Sounds like Ca is not business friendly. The state that Moose and I live in is not business friendly either. We will look at what you have and gladly support your site. Thanks

By the way, a big THANK YOU to all of our forum members who have made an effort to use our forum link to Amazon.com! :wv

I've just paid the bill for our web server and our commissions from Amazon have covered it once again this year. I really do appreciate that so many people have gotten in to the habit of starting their Amazon.com shopping trips by using one of the links here on our forum. When you do that, it means that whatever you purchase at Amazon will generate a commission in our direction... and that's why this forum continues to operate in spite of our high server costs!

I was definitely tempted to shut down the forum in 2010 when we retired from breeding Cockers. But with the forum membership being so good about making sure our costs are covered... the future of the forum continues to look bright. :cool

I have a feeling I might just be able to single handily support the forum through Amazon since I'm buying most of my wedding supplies from there! :bg

Ooops. Shame on me as I could have probably fueled the whole forum with my Xmas shopping through Amazon. I have now seen the light and vow to make all my purchases through using this click to Amazon. I just bought my monthly Taste of the Wild food for my little one, plus one bag for donation to the rescue.

My new book, "Cast-Off Cocker Spaniels" is available on Amazon, in paperback and Kindle. What a great way to support the forum and cocker rescue!

I've inserted a hyperlink in to Becky's post so that if you just click on the name of her book, it takes you right there to the right page at Amazon.com and gives credit to the forum for the purchase. Simple!

I just bought a 90 dollar external hard drive (1tb) can you make sure that went through? Also a separate order of quadruped shampoo for around 30 dollars?! I have a few other grooming things I'd like to buy, I just want to make sure I'm doing it right first! (And my sons birthday is coming up!!)

There's a few days delay from when you order until it shows up in a report I can see. I do see all the baby clothes from a few days ago, as well as the natural balance dog food. It will be another day or two before I can confirm the external hard drive.

In case anyone is worried about privacy... I can't see any personal data. All I see is what product is ordered, the quantity, date, and price. There is nothing like names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, or anything like that. So, if you order anything, uh, interesting.... I will have no idea who did it. So, don't worry! :raz

And it's totally normal that you won't see anything about Zims... or anything to indicate that we got credit for the purchase. As long as you start via one our links... you've done it right.

Thank you, everyone! :wv

:wnk Even if you could see what I bought, I don't think I would care.
You're welcome. Glad I could help.
