Chessie turns two in a couple months and soon can be officially measured for jump height.

Any advice on getting a good measurement? We practiced at class last week and she was cringing away from the person trying to measure her! :sad I've been working on her stand/stay this week. Any other ideas?

I have an opportunity to get her temporary measurement this weekend at a show. I'm hoping that she measure to jump at 12"! I really don't want her to be too tall and have to jump 16! Anyone have any tricks or tips?

We didn't get a measurement because she cringed and shifted every time the person measuring came near to move the bar and it came down. We decided not to worry about the measurement and concentrated on trying to get her comfortable just standing there.

Try to get a measurement beforehand and if she seems too tall run her and tire her before the official measurement. When I went to the judging clinic we were told that if we got a higher measurement than other judges had gotten or the person complained about never having measured that high to send them off to run and then come back to be measured.
