I wrote a few weeks ago that we are planning to adopt a choc and white parti, we are going to call Fletcher in a few weeks. He came over today with my friend who rescued him from the pound and has attended to his vettting needs since he was saved on Jan. 9. He is doing great. Our dogs, Spencer, Madison and Benji got along great with him as they met in our yard for the first time and we walked on our farm. No issues-they all got along great. It made us so happy. Nina is a trainer and she recommends we keep him in a crate while we are gone and at night, at least at first for a number of reasons. Eventually, my mom wants him to sleep on her bed after our dogs have gotten used to him, and he has settled in. So I was browsing on the internet and there are so many crates and sizes. Nina told me to get a 32 inch crate. Do y'all recommend any certain kinds? soft kinds? kinds with multiple doors? would like something that will be comfortable and nice looking and good quality.
Thanks for your input. Only have a picture so far of the day he was rescued form the pound. will share a new picture this weekend. And Happy Valentines Days to everyone on the forum and their cocker babies!

30 is good (haven't seen a 32), depending on his size smaller might work very well. My girls would only take a 24. I personally do NOT like the hard sided crates. They seem to confining to me. I would recommend a wire crate..as for openings and doors it makes no diff IMO. Midwest, lifestages are good. I definitely would go for the type that folds. Here's a link to good prices. Often Petsmart and Petco will have them for less online than in the store...way less.

If I have a foster who is afraid or just had surgery (or heartworm treatment) I used my plastic enclosed crate. It keeps them calmer and feeling more secure. It may be good for sleeping so they aren't atuned to every single movement around them.

Thank you. I wasn't finding any 32 inch size crates when I was browsing online so may go with the 30. I was brainstorming that maybe I'd get the wire kind so he could look out our back glass door during the day, but there is a nice lady that makes quilts and maybe she could make a cover for me out of cute material to put on his crate at night so he'd have more "wall" coverage when he went to bed. He is 4 years old and was very, very thin when rescued from the pound. he only weighed 19 pounds. he has been getting good food since jan. 9 and now weighs about 25 pounds, but he is a smaller fram cocker and not as tall as my boys that weigh about 27 now.
