Hi fellow ZCF members
I have been trying to find a repellent for Milo for a while that its not a pesticide. Hes almost 4 and i have used it on him in the past 2 years for the summer months only. So far, in the almost 4 years of his life, i have only found 2 ticks feeding and 1 crawling on him not flees. No i have moved to a new place and behind the complex its all woods = wild animals = bugs. i dont want to use a pesticide so i came across the lemon cocktail.
Has anyone tried this on their pup?
How do you feel about it?
Does it really work?
How does the coat feel after application, sticky, oily etc?
Has anyone had any issues with it? Rashes, itching, irritation etc.
Here is the instructions for the repellent

***The Very best results I have gotten is with using the Lemon solution for fleas and ticks. sometimes I use a combo of Homemade things for fleas and ticks. If they are all natural it is safe.
Flea and Tick Recipe: Cut 1/4 Lemon (I wrap the lemon in cheese cloth to avoid messy straining) **Boil 2cups of water.** Put the Lemon in boiling water, turn off stove. **CoverLet Steep overnite. ** In the morning, Squeeze lemon. **Pour with funnel into a Spray bottle. Waalaa Instant Flea and Tick repellent. **Spray your Pet. Avoiding Eyes, and sensitive areas. Spray behind ears, down back, under arms, chest, base of tail where fleas like to hide. You may use this treatment as often as you like, I would recommend daily.
****Homemade Repellents for Fleas and Ticks
1st) Bathe your dog, add apple cider vinegar(organic) to the rinse water. This will make your dog’s fur taste bad, thus reducing any attraction it may have for fleas and ticks.
2nd)Dab two drops of essential oil to the area between your dog’s shoulder blades. Such as Lavender, or lemongrass essential oils repel ticks Lavender essential oil is also effective in reducing, fleas and ticks as well as flies and mosquitoes.
3rd) Boost your dog’s immune system by feeding a high quality pet food, such as Life’s Abundance which is high in probiotics.
He does not have a tick or flee problem nor has he had a severe case of the problem but i do want him to be safe and use all natural products if necessary for the sake of his health..
i would not like a pesticide on my skin and i fell like crap for poring that on him not knowing about this alternate route.
