Kiva is losing one tooth after the other.. i have most of them , she doesn't swallow them.
The question i have is..
Is it normal for the breath to smell bad? i can not describe the smell.. first i thought it was blood.. but it isn't really.
I soak her food right now though she can eat. she has problems with that right now.. but yet she bites in anything soft and fuzzy. it almost drives her insane.. is it painful for them to teeth or more itchy?
Hope she is getting better soon.. my poor baby :paw :paw :paw

Poor Kiva....I feel so bad for her. My Rocky is going through the same thing though he hasn't started to lose teeth yet, but he bites everything soft and fuzzy. The more he bites and plays with "stuffies" the crazier he becomes. Best of luck.

No, it's not normal for breath to smell bad, even if she's teething.
Make sure she has bully sticks, toys, or other things for her to gnaw on, as these help the new teeth cut through the gums. A frozen washcloth can be soothing, too, but make sure she doesn't shred it or swallow it. She may even enjoy crunching on some crushed ice (not large pieces, though).

Does he have a lot of folds around his mouth where food may be getting stuck? That might be what you're smelling. Or he could have a bad tooth - one that is loose but isn't coming out for some reason. Try just wiping around his mouth with an old washcloth and warm water. If you still smell something, I think a call to the vet might be in order.

I've tried the frozen washcloth and it seemed to help.. i although brewed up some camomile tea and washed out her mouth..
She is almost done now, i have most of her teeth in a little box.. she doesn't swallow them. 2 more K9's to go and she should be done with teething.. thank you all for those great ideas!!! :bg
