On Monday , noticed that Hunter's right eye had a cloudy spot so I called the vet.Our appt. was today and by then the whole eye was cloudy. My vet is doing bloodwork to check for fat levels as it could be a fatty deposit, she is also checking basic thyroid level. She tested his tear production which was normal, checked his cornea for scratches and the pressures in his eyes which were low normal( r) and low (l) She called an eye specialist in New Brunswick who used to work at the Atlantic Vet College and she'll see Hunter on Wednesday afternoon. After looking at emailed photos she thinks it could be an abcess under the cornea or a foreign body in the eye .For now he has antibiotics(drops and pills) and another eye drop to dilate the eye and we go sat. To have his eye checked.Hope everyone can give good thoughts to Hunter next Wed. Update. Got the results of Hunter's bloodwork,it shows low thyroid/ high cholesterol will do more testing after Christmas because blood samples have to be sent to an Ontario lab.

Rhonda, I sure hope it's nothing serious and that Hunter's eye is ok. I will think about both of you on Wednesday for sure. :paw

My Nico G had what they called a cholestrol spot on his eye, we went to a specialist and with drops (3 kinds) we finally disolved it and he is doing good but will have eye drop for the rest of his life. Glad you are going to a specialist.

I updated on cockers.... The white of his eye is inflamed and his immune system is attacking it so he is on steroid drops for 4 months as it can spread to his other eye.the next two months he'll see his regular vet and hopefully we can lower the number of times the drops go in.In March he'll see the specialist again. The specialist said this is common in cockers and co-wrote a paper on it. I think we caught it in time because by the 3rd day the eye was less cloudy.
