Well this year has not been very good for our agility training, my dad's work schedule got in the way so we stopped going to class in April. Poor sissy Kaitlyn has only had about 6 months of training and doesn't even know all the equipment yet (weaves and teeter) but we have still done a few CPE trials just for fun and practice. Well this weekend we had a trial and I had six runs I Q'd in five of them and did my weave poles in two runs (as some of you may remember I am the Queen of I don't do weave poles) boy was Mommy proud of me. In those same six runs not only did I Q but got 4 firsts, a second and a fouth and earned my Level 2 title. However the real story is Kaitlyn's she had 4 runs (she only does runs without the equipment she doesn't know) and Q'd 3 times with 3 first places to go with them. She did the A frame for the first time in competition and followed daddy like a pro. I better be careful or she will think she runs agility better than me.
On top of it it was 97 degrees this weekend and that is just to hot. I hate the heat. So I had to take this opportunity to brag a little. If I keep up the good work on weaves maybe I'll be ready to try AKC trials soon.

Love

Karlie and Kaitlyn Lu

Karlie,

Congratulations :th-up ! Very impressive to Q without taking classes. It certainly did get hot this weekend, luckily our trial was on Friday so it wasn't too hot. Mom was glad she didn't enter us on Sat & Sun because then it was hot!

I can guarantee that it won't be 97 degrees at the January WCCSC trial! And even if it is hot, we are under cover. Why don't you and Kaitlyn Lu practice up and enter. There is also going to be FAST and Time2Beat events at the trial.

Mom is Trial Chair and she is going to be ordering some really neat awards for High Scoring Cockers (JWW & STD combined) and separate awards for top cocker in 12", 16" and preferred classes for FAST and Time2Beat.

:cool Solo

Congratulations! It sounds as if you are on your way to a great agility career. :Clap :Clap :Clap

Don't tell me that it is still hot in California! I hope it cools off by November. We expect snow here this weekend.

Colleen when is the date of the WCCSC trial?

Sylvia -- no snow here in LA. The first weekend of November is suppose to be in mid 70s. The WCCSC January trial is Jan 7-8, 2012. The premium was posted on Lynda's site today: http://www.lyndatjarksagility.com/index ... &func=view

Karlie, you can show the link to your Mom,

Colleen

Thanks guys. Colleen we will be vending that event so will probably enter Karlie in it. Where can I go to get the rules for fast and time2beat? I assume that standard and jumps&weaves are just like they sound, however in novice are any faults allowed or must you run clean. In CPE level one some faults are allowed and you can still Q, although the girls ran clean this last weekend. It was a beautiful thing but not expected for sure. : ))

Becky,
The rules for FAST and T2Beat on are the AKC site. I have hard copies and can scan and email them to you if you need them).
Yes AKC novice allows some faults. And the faults vary depending whether it is jumpers or standard. (I'll skip FAST and T2B for now). You can NEVER Q with a dropped bar. You cannot have a wrong course in jumpers. You can have a wrong course, and/or refusal in standard. The rules for weaves have been changed and I don't know the exact rules anymore. I do know you can have up to 3 attempts to do them successfully. What I don't know is whether it is an NQ or just a fault if you never do them successfully.

I'm pretty sure that not finishing the weaves successfully after 3 attempts is an NQ because I believe it is called as a "failure to complete an obstacle" and a mandatory NQ. But it is wonderful practice!
