WOW now there was a surprise. I did not think James would win but that he would be top 3. Not so.

WIth that, NONE of us picked James. So the results stay the same, gang.

Oh and don't forget So You Think You Can Dance starts after American Idol ceases for the season. We will get that voting contests started here as they wind into the top dancers.

I read the judges picked the following songs for tonight. I'm assuming they will sing one or two additional songs. These are all on YouTube if you want to check them out.

For Haley: You Oughtta Know by Alanis Morrisette. I listened to this song on YouTube and hated it so much I tried the Beyonce version too to see if it was any better. (I'm really getting old - looked to me like she was having some sort of fit where she turned into a dog or something. I sound like my parents watching James Brown!) I thought it was a terrible choice. Hope Haley does a better interpretation.

For Scotty: She Believes in Me by Kenny Rogers. Good song for Scotty but kinda old, especially when they keep telling everyone to pick songs people know. (BYW: Scotty is getting lots of hits on his home town performance with Josh Turner).

For Lauren: I Hope You Dream by Lee Ann Womak. I think she has the best song and I think it will really work well for her.

I think it will for sure be Haley to go home - leaving Lauren and Scotty for the Final show. Then.... Who to choose??? I really like them both!

Wow, tough choice again this week. Haley has really grown on me this last few weeks, although I really didn't enjoy her last song last night.

Who I want to leave (Scotty) and who I think America will vote out, are completely different.

I am going to say Haley is leaving tonight and the finale will be a country showdown of Lauren vs Scotty.

Oooh and I will start the So You Think You Can Dance contest once they narrow down to America calling in.

Everyone was pretty good last night but also had some off moments. I really missed James last night. No one really had a performance where I said WOW! (I really missed James' showmanship.) I would be shocked if Scotty went home. Not surprised if it was Lauren. And pleased if Haley said 'goodbye'.

So I'll guess Haley goes.

Hayley gets my vote for the boot. I think that it will be a country showdown. Yeehaw!

The way my voting has gone this year whoever I vote for will remain into the finals, I'm sure. I have been hoping for the last umpteen weeks that Haley would leave and I still remain hopeful. My vote is for Haley......again!!

I missed James too. I consider him a local guy because he is from Santa Cruz. And I am going to continue to HOPE that Haley gets the boot!! Yeah a country howdown or showdown!! I like that . SOOO my vote is for:

Lauren was AMAZING tonight though....

Lauren sung the pants off that good ole' boy. I am saying Lauren takes it all, strained vocal cords and all.

I think Scotty will win.

Boy this is a TOUGH one!! I really do like them both. BUT I am going to say that I think that the winner will be...

I was going to say Scotty will win tonight but I think they stacked the deck a bit in Lauren's favor when they marched the doctor out to tell the crowd what happened to Lauren's vocal chords. She might get the vote because she did amazing under the circumstances. And then there was that song to her mother that ended in tears for the both of them. The judges seemed divided until the last round when they sided more with Lauren. So with that said I think the winner will be Lauren.

My vote is for Scotty

The final show was totally outstanding. Loved the skit with James, Casey & Pia as to who's leaving was the most surprising. I loved all the duets - especially Casey & Jack Black - they were like brothers. I was so glad to see that Lauren was totally OK with the results. Honestly, I think this was one of the best seasons ever. I'm going to miss it. Thanks CarolB for doing this thread - it's been fun.

Looking forward though to SYTYCD which I like even better!
