The list I'm putting together will be so that I can keep all of you updated on plans and if anything changes for the ASC.

I do this so that I can keep track of groups since there are other forums who have people attending.

UPDATE ON HOTELS:

If you plan on booking a hotel, do NOT go through Expedia or Orbitz - they'll show unavailable.

I called the Super 8 directly and was able to hold a block of FOUR rooms from 7/21 (Thursday) through 7/24 (Sunday), which are booked under my name (Belknap). Some are smoking rooms. I don't know what the mix of smoking/non-smoking is.

The room rate is $84.00/night.

If you are interested in one of these rooms, let me know SOON! I'm also posting this on the OCC Forum, so first come, first served.

Thanks so much, Sally, for calling me this morning on this information about the Super 8. I panicked and went directly to the Super 8 website and booked my room for July 20th through the 21st.

I wouldn't have thought that hotel may be booked so quickly. Must be because it is within walking distance from the show venue.

It just may not be available through the third party sites. I booked a room this morning directly on the Super8 website with no problem.

Got my room at Super 8 for Wednesday thru Monday. Sounds like this is going to be a paaaaarTy.

I'm jumping in and re-activating this thread.

I made my flight reservation this morning for round trip from San Antonio to Hartford. I didn't dare wait any longer as the fares have steadily risen every week for the last 2 months. The fare is now almost $200 more than when I started looking in February.

As far as transportation from the Hartford or Boston airports, the ASC has posted a link for a limo service from either of those airports. This could be an excellent and cheaper option than renting a car. I'll be looking further into this and share any info that I find.

I'm also sending Jim a request to have this thread to a separate section so we can keep track of the plans everyone is making.

My flight is booked too . . . I don't have the details on hand at this moment, but I arrive on the Wednesday morning and fly out the Monday morning. I'm flying into Boston, and then getting to the show from there.

That is a wonderful offer. We will be going to MA from our cabin in Northern MN. We might be going one direction via Canada and the other direction south and west so that I can visit family in MI, Chicago and Wi.

Just booked our flights and hotel reservations for Nationals!!! :th-up

I am so excited!! We are leaving my brothers in Maine on Wednesday morning so if anyone needs a ride between Maine and Sturbridge on Wednesday, PM me and we can make arrangements. We are also staying at the Super 8!!! I think they should re-name it Zim Family Cocker Motel for those 5 days! :ROFL

This will be our first trip to Nationals and I can't wait. :YAY

I'm so glad to hear that your plans have been finalized. But so sorry, Em, that you won't be able to make it.

Jackie, the reason that I am asking for e-mail addresses is that I keep a list to use for contacting each other while we're at the Nationals. I'll be asking you to provide your arrival/departure schedule as well as cell numbers to put together a contact list that will be distributed prior to all of us getting together in Sturbridge. We call each other frequently so that all know when we arrive and what our plans are for each day in getting together for lunch, dinner, etc.

Now I want to go even MORE!!! But aside from the timing not working out my family is going on a Disney vacation this year with my niece being 8 it'll be loads of fun ^_^ But also loads of $$$

Okay folks who will be going to the Dance and Awards Dinner on Saturday? I'm still undecided as to attend or not. I will be traveling with my friend Hope and her "Harley" (ya I know 2 Harleys in the same room...oy vey talk about confusion) so we would like some advice as to go...not go.
We are staying at the Super 8 so party in our room...the Harley's are always accommodating on belly rubs.

I haven't heard of anyone that is planning on attending the Dance and Awards on Saturday, but I'm sure that there will be plenty of people that you know and don't know who would be glad to help out with a party with the "Harley's". Usually, if we have any kind of party, attendees chip in for food, and bring drinks of their choice. Last year we all chipped in for pizza and brought our own drinks. The hotel provided a place for us to get together.
