I went to a dog show on Thursday and Friday in Syracuse, N.Y. There was a man selling collars very similar to Erika's although he did not have the variety in style and color. Guess what? They were outrageously priced compared to Classy-Critter's price.

A collar that would fit a cocker sold between $70 and $90 whereas the ones for larger dogs were $110. :OMY I did notice that some people bought them. I was quite shocked and his work was not as nice as Erika's so I thought I'd let you guys know what a great deal we are getting here. :wnk

It's funny you mention this because I had been at an dog boutique during the week and the guy there mentioned he had a "line of collars". They are beaded like Erika's but they didn't have the double cording. It looked like he just did beads on a cord and then put one large bead over all three cords to hold them together at intervals. I had visions of a dog pulling on it and having the cords pop and beads (and dog) go all over the place. And he wanted $40.00 and UP! No thanks....I'll stick to Erika's!

I love Erika's collars. Not sure if she recommends this but when dirty I put them in the washer on gentle with my other fragile clothing and wash them. I hang them over the doorknob to dry over night and they are good as new.

Yes, we also frequently get compliments on our dog's Erika collars. In fact, when we recently went to see Onyx's breeder, she said, "wow, look at her fancy Erika collar!" It's funny how everyone just calls them Erika collars.

When ours get dirty, I just grab some dish soap and wash them in the kitchen sink and then hang them to dry. If Erika is reading this thread, perhaps you can let us know how you wash them or if there is a preferred method.

I wash mine in the bathroom sink with laundry detergent.

The residents and staff where Gracie and I do our therapy visits LOVE her collars. I get so many comments every time we go . . . and I always tell folks how reasonably priced they are and how sturdy they are. I love 'em!

SHHHHHH Don't tell Erika! Maybe she's busy with the mother-to-be and won't notice this post. :lol3

Yes, we all love them. There's a boutique here in our town. I've taken Sadie in a couple of times with the collars on. I was hoping they would ask me where I got it and I could put them in contact with Erika.

Erika, do you want me to give them your card?
Oh, that's right - she's not reading this post is she?

Erika told me to wash them pretty much how most of you have said....in the sink with some Dawn (thats her words I believe) I usually use whatever soap is handy. Handsoap, dishsoap whatever....never tried laundry soap but i bet that works really good and smells good too! Kirra rolled in some.....yuckyness.....last night and I ripped her collar off imediately upon getting home and ran it in warm water and handsoap in the bathroom while I scrubbed her neck with wipes (I cut her legs and skirt off last night so its not bathtime yet of course luckly it was only on her neck and was easy enough to get off the short hair) .....That and alllll over her collar. It cleaned right off and its all pretty again ^_^ Hung it on the doorknob to dry. This morning I grabbed it and all the dogs came and sat b/c they love getting their collars on.

I get tons of compliments on Rudy's collars too! I was wondering how to clean them as Rudy's are getting kind of dirty.
Thanks guys, Once again! :bg I've told a couple of people about Rudy's collars - and where I got them.

A lot of Jack's have white cords. When they start to look dingy I soak them in a sink with warm water and a little OxiClean. I throw them in the washer in a pillow case (tied shut) on the hand wash cycle then lay them flat to dry. A lot of ours have lasted a few years and are still going strong. If only one would break so I could buy a new one :wnk
