They can be used to prevent a male being able to breed , but it is truely not recommended. They are mainly used for male dogs that lift or are not potty trained. I have also used them on my female rescues that are spayed to keep them from licking their site.

I have used belly bands on my neutered males when they start acting like star-struck teenagers around Leila, when she was in heat. The boys didn't like the belly bands 'interference' when they chased Leila around, and tried to 'have their way with her', so they quit bothering her.
I also used them when first housebreaking Louie, who was 5 years old, and Cooper, who was 9 months old when they joined our family. I thought they really helped in housebreaking.

Marie, how wide are these bands? I bought some a while back for Toby from someone on eBay, but they rolled up around the edges and he'd find a way to be able to still mark things. Also, how much do you ask for them?

I am a bit late getting back to you ....sorry :(

They are $9.00 a piece for the medium bands. They can be made to the width that you are needing (or wanting) I tend to find the 6inch area works well for those naughty pee pups. Alot of time the bands will roll due to the fact that they are too thin(only having 2 pieces of cotton. I generally will use cotton, batting, then fleece!

I'm SO glad Charlie never marked inside the house. Of course, he had 'accidents' inside while puppy training but once he was fully potty trained, he never marked inside the house. Those belly bands are very nice though, I like the extra layers of fabric.

BUT there was that one time at the dog park where he lifted his leg and marked ON MY LEG! I could not believe it. That's the only time he did it too, I don't know what that came from :dk

Do they try to chew at the bands?
We have some issues with excited urination and I'm wondering if this would help.
