We went down to Connecticut for a trial. It was the same place where we went to our very first trial last year. The people there are very nice and I had several trainers come up to me and tell me that Star is a fabulous athlete and that they hoped I knew it. My little girl shines even when she doesn't Q. :love

She had a decent Standard run but missed her Dog Walk contact so no Q. We had a very, very hard Gamblers which I doubted that she'd get. Well, she did and Q'd with a first place. :joy There were two curved tunnels side by side with all 4 openings facing a jump. She had to take the jump then go into a specific opening, come out then go into another tunnel then a jump. I was amazed that she did it.

She Q'd in Snooker and got her title. :YAY She would have Q'd in jumpers but I forgot one jump. :bang Now we just need to finish the Standard title so that she can be in Advanced in all the classes. We only manage to trial about one day per month so we are slow in progressing but she is moving forward.

I don't have any photos but the nicest part of the trial was that we got to meet our friend Cindy from the forum! Thank you, Cindy for coming to watch Star run.

Hi Sylvia! It was such a treat to meet you and Star yesterday. I didn't see your post earlier, so I posted some photos and videos in the Cockers, cockers, cockers section.

It sounds like a truly lovely weekend! I'm sure those Qs will come along quickly.

WTG Li' Sister Star! I watched the video on the other thread. You are still one fast cocker! We haven't done USDAA for quite awhile. Mom has decided with the limited amount of time and energy that she has, we are only going to do AKC. It has been over a month since our last trial and the show 'n go for tomorrow has been canceled because of expected showers. We had hoped to use the show 'n go as a warm-up for several up coming trials. We are trialing next Sunday and then 3 days the next weekend.

See you in July (unless you decide to come to CA where we almost never have closed AKC agility trials).

Rosey

Thank you, Melissa. We are crawling right along but we don't get to trial very often. How's Jasper doing?

Thanks, Big Sis! We are doing both for now. My mom loves it when I jump 12" in AKC and she is thinking that I should start competing in Performance in USDAA so that I can jump the same height in both venues without stressing her out so much. We are still in Starters Standard, I can't seem to do it all perfectly in order to get that last Q.

I hope you get to have some fun and get to play agility soon!

Congratulations Star and Sylvia! Sounds like a lot of fun. Love the pictures too. Star is sure turning out to be one beautiful dog. Agility sounds like alot of fun. I'd love to get Lucky and Fancy involved if we ever got a class going so I could learn to do it. Both of them really seem to enjoy it when we set up the tunnels and various agility equipment over at the training grounds. Maybe this summer we can get a class going. It sure looks like alot of fun.

On the rare occasion when we do USDAA, I go in the Performance Division so I only need to jump 12". I don't like to change my jumping style and if someone forgets to put jumps down to 12" (after running Solo at 16"). I just stop in front of the jump and stare until the error is corrected.

I hope you get to train in agility. It is a lot of fun and it increases the bond with your dog in a wonderful way!

I don't mind jumping 16" since that is how I started and all I knew for a year. However, my mom is tired of my bar dropping when in sand and in the heat so for the advanced level most likely I'll be jumping 12" which is okay because I run faster at that height. :lol3
