Ok, this is a tough week. I think everyone did really well.

Am going to have to choose between the two who haven't really been in my top list for a while, Haley or Naima

I am going with Stefano to leave.

I really enjoyed this week even though Motown isn't my favorite. This is one of the best seasons yet - a lot of credit may go to the producers they are using. Still, I think the performances while really good, weren't totally great. I liked James the best and still love Scotty, even though this wasn't his best performance. I love Casey, but his style is beginning to get old (even a bit grating) while Paul is beginning to grow on me. I like Lauren and hope she becomes more confident - seems like she is holding back. I think Pia can sing, but I find her old fashioned and boring. I think Jacob can sing, but he's got some weird facial and hand expressions that don't fit in with what he is singing - sometimes he looked like a hamster begging for a cookie! Stefano really can sing, but he needs to open his eyes. Last night wasn't his best, but I think he will be OK. Thia was better but I don't think she has any chance of winning; I hope she finds a job singing in a Disney feature; what a sweetie. I thought Naima did a great job; just not sure she has developed enough of a fan base to keep her in. That leaves Haley. I can't figure out why the judges compare her to Janis Joplin. No way. I don't think she has anything going for her so I'm guessing she will go tonight.

I think that Casey will be leaving tonight. I agree with Esther that his style is growing old!

Em, I totally agree with you. Naima and Haley are my bottom 2 also. Haley's attitude rubbed me the wrong way last week. It seemed like she wasn't appreciative of the constructive criticism. Enough of my ranting...I think Haley will go tonight.

Wow, that was a surprise – and someone give Casey a Xanax – I don’t know but it seemed fake to me. Or planned? In any case, we had one person who guessed right: Lori!!!! Nicely done.

Jeez I totally forgot to give my pick, but I would have been wrong anyway. There really is a lot of talent this year. I thought Casey was going to lose it there myself. I was thinking they were going to have to call the paramedics. He is not my favorite, but then I don't really have a favorite at this point. On to next week!! Happy Birthday to Steven Tyler, that was cool!!

I think one of the problems Casey has is that while a lot of us like him, he isn't our favorite so he's not getting the votes. I really thought he was going to pass out. Actually, the part I liked best was seeing Hulk Hogan! What do they mean "wrestling isn't real"? Next someone is going to try to tell me that roller derby is fake!

I thought Casey was going to pass out too, or punch someone. He creeps me out!

They sing songs of the 80s tonight

Thank you - I was just wondering about that. Off-hand, I have no idea what songs were big in the 80s so I checked it out. #28 was one called "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" - Has a whole different meaning when you get old!

Update: I read on the web that the producers decided to do Elton John songs instead. Gee, and I was hoping someone would choose "Wake Me Up ..."

It is indeed Elton John songs. Hmmmm weird they changed it.

Okay remember you choose TWO this week to go home since they used the save card last week.

I think it could be quite a few this week.

But, I am going to go with Naima and Stefano.

Problem is, I'm not an Elton John fan so last night wasn't the best for me. I thought Haley was terrible - not sexy at all. Interestingly Brian thought she was great so I think she'll be safe. It probably doesn't help that Bennie and the Jets is on my 10 worst songs ever list. I like Paul but I didn't think he did well at all last night. However, he has been chosen by votefortheworst.com and that will generate some votes for him. Pia can really sing and I think she's got lots of fans. I just wish she had a personality. Jacob also can sing, but I think he's over singing his songs and has a Baby Huey presence about him. Please put him in clothes that aren't too small! Casey was a lot better this week, but I'm not sure that trimming his hair and beard will eliminate the creap factor. (I read that he and Haley are an item - but I don't want to dwell on picturing them growling together.) Stefano has a nice voice but seems rather bland. James was entertaining and at least he isn't bland. I still like Scotty. I agree he's a one-trick pony, but it's a great trick. I thought Lauren was great.

That leaves Naima and Thia. Neither did well and I don't see any redeeming factors so I'm guessing they will go home.

What has happened to the judges? There were some seriously poor singing last night, but you would never know it from their comments. They are sounding like the old mentors from years past. Guess they're hoping we'll drink the kool-aid.

I thought that James performance was just OVER THE TOP for me. Imagine a piano on fire!!!! Really!!!! How do they come up with these things!!!
