This made me cry, and I know you all will identify with this.

If I Didn't Have a Dog... or Cat...

I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.
My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.
When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel.
And I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.
I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration
how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.
I would have money, and no guilt to go on a real vacation.
I would not be on a first-name basis with six veterinarians, as I
put their yet unborn grandkids through college.
The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, off, and leave it.
My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers.
I would not talk 'baby talk' 'Eat your din din' 'Yummy yummy for the tummy.'
My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere.
My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats and an extra leash.
I would no longer have to spell the words
B-A-L-L, W-A-L-K, T-R-E-A-T, O-U-T, G-O,
R-I-D-E, or C-O-O-K-I-E.
I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.
I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much.
I'd look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading 'mud' season.
I would not have to answer the question 'Why do you have so many animals?' from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get.

How EMPTY my life would be!!!

Oh Marianne,
That made me cry too. :cry
First I saw the picture that Em had posted of that poor little neglected Cocker, Delilah, and was crying. :cry
Then I saw the beautiful picture of how little Delilah looks now and was crying. :cry
Then I read this and was crying. :cry
Thank goodness I am working the night shift alone this week.
My co-workers see me either broken hearted and crying over Cockers or laughing at Cockers till I cry. :roll

I swear, my desk here at work has tear stains on it since I have found this forum.
Thanks for sharing that, it was beautiful.

Would you mind if I typed it up and printed it off to hang up at home?
Thanks,
Vicki :sm

Those without furbabies are missing so much from their lives.

Thank you for sharing this and reminding us that blessings come in many unexpected ways.

I feel the same way and I only have one lol My hubby laughed at me last week when we went out for dinner he noticed my coat pocket was bulged out "whats in your pocket?" not even thinking I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out the plastic bag "oh a poop bag" I laughed I leave them in my coat for walking the dog and forgot to take it out when we left. As he rolls his eyes at me.

I shared this with the forum, as someone at work sent this to me.
I just thought everyone here would 'get' this, as it is so true.
So feel free to share :sml

Loved it!

Hey! Those poop bags come in handy! LOL Don't tell me you've never used a poop bag for something other than poop! I know I have! :gig
