Hi guys,

I recently discovered a hot spot on the collar area (around the throat) of my Droopy. I am not sure if the nylon collar caused this hot spot, but I suspect that is the case. Does anybody experienced this? Droopy is currently around the house without collar as he is under treatment for the hotspot and I use an harness to walk him. Can anybody recommend a soft collar that will not produce irritation? I am concerned that if for some reason Droopy gets lost, he will not have a name tag with our info. Thanks for your input.

These are very soft awesome collars, and best of all you get to pick your fabric. I love these collars

Have you tried padded dog collars?

Another option is to have Droopy microchipped. Vet clinics and shelters typically use a chip scanner to see if a lost dog has an owner. Microchips can be implanted at your vet clinic, and the chip is registered to you as the owner.

I've used these on Gromit for years:

They're made by a forum member, and because they're plastic beads, not fabric, the moisture won't collect between the collar and skin.

I absolutely concur! Classy Critter Collars are the best! They are not only lovely (and can be made with your choice of colors, bling, etc.), but are sturdy and very long lasting. You will enjoy them! :paw

Thanks for all your input. The beads collar sound interesting. I just microchiped him, but certainly a tag with y phone number would make it easier.

You can also register your dog with HomeAgain or another association. We use HomeAgain as we travel with our dogs in our RV. Getting our dogs lost away from home is my worst nightmare. Each of our dogs have three tags on their collars.

Note: Classy Critters Collars also have a tag ring for placing info. Hopefully, you will never need any of this info, but being safe rather than sorry is my way of feeling a little more secure. :paw
