After 7 and a half months with us, Bert went to a new foster home. He had become so attached to us (me in particular) that it was difficult to take him to meet new people because he would be unwilling to leave my side.
His new foster dad works from home, has another cocker named Simon and is experienced with Cockers, having owned several. He offered to take Bert in order to help Bert become more socialized with other dogs. Since he's home most of the day and takes his dogs everywhere he can, he's the ideal person to help Bert with his dog social issues. Bert can get so anxious meeting new people that he growls and snaps. Apparently, that did not happen at all when meeting his new foster dad, who was patient and respectful of Bert. As a result, Bert was happy to go with him.
I am going to miss my "heart healer" but always knew that we were not going to be his forever home. However, I will not be surprised if his new foster dad "fails foster".

Please keep paws and fingers crossed that whether it is with his new foster family or not, Bert finds his forever home!
