In my area, the vets will not give the shots. They say they don't feel comfortable with them.

I mentioned this to my vet and she knew all about it. As a matter of fact she was able to give me the whole timeline from memory. She said the saddest part is many people - even hearing the risks - have opted to this this (and some have come to her specifically asking) to their pups. She has actually lost a few people because the practice has refused (as she says - small loss). The reason people ask? It's "easier" than remembering to give the monthly meds. :bang

This was a huge cause of IMHA/AIHA back when it first came out. Sometimes I snopes stories, not this time, because I know this is totally true, if not, others like it. I am appalled that it was allowed back on the market. We were lucky back then-our Katie got it twice before it was recalled, before we knew better, luckily no ill effects. My vet also won't carry it now.
