My prayers for a successful adoption are going your way. Sounds like a happy ending if he gets along with your other crew!

Please keep the prayers coming that this all works out. From what Vickie is saying, he seems to have been horribly neglected. I'm a nervous wreck that Rosie will be OK with another dog in the house, and we have to make sure he's OK with contagious issues, 'cause I have to protect her and she's only had minimal inoculations. And I never had more than one dog at a time, so everybody has to tell me that this will be alright, and that I can handle it. Please give me tips on leash walking 2 of them! And does anyone think he can learn to climb the doggy steps to the high mattress, 'cause I want him to sleep in the bed with me and Rosie, but Murphy could never learn to use them and she jumped and seriously hurt her leg before she died. I think I just really need to meet him and hug him. :hp :hp :hp

Can someone remind me how to post pics? I'd like to post some new ones of Rosie and can't remember how to downsize and all that. Thanks!

Walk them on a coupler, in fact I would walk them the first time they meet so they can learn about each other. I know that with new fosters, they learn by following my other two dogs, they want to please and learn the rules.

I have always kept 2 dogs (or more, I now have 3). I find it is easier as the newer dog will catch on somewhat to house rules by watching the other dogs. House training and other things were always easier with an experienced dog to pair with the newbie. That said there can be jealousy issues and some dogs aren't willing to share their person. Most, however, grow to be great pals with their housemates. Be prepared to offer each dog a secure feeding station apart from the other. In a crate or separate rooms at least to start with. Get them acquainted in a neutral zone outside of your home so they don't have a home territory to defend. It may take some time but usually it goes easier than you think it will. You're gonna love this!

Vickie just sent me a picture of Mowgli the Adorable...and I just love him!! I can't wait to smother him in hugs and kisses!! I am so grateful to Vickie and her vet. The amount of time and caring and medical care being poured into this dear boy is absolutely extraordinary! I already have "boy" food and water bowls....shopping tomorrow...collar, leash, bed and toys!! I just have a feeling that Rose-buddy the Stinker isn't gonna share  . Can't wait to give this fellow some lovin'!

Floss,
May everything go smoothly for you as you add Mowgli to your family. I don't think that you have to worry about cutie patootie Rosie "catching" anything from what I read in the thread. It appears that the he has been under the vets watchful eye and she is making sure that all is well before he moves to his new home.
My Paisley is a spitfire like your Rosie and she bosses her three brothers around to this day but they adore her bossy ways :goof ! I love walking my two on a coupler (of course I have a 3rd dog on another leash at all times) as they move in sync and are very easy to walk.
Thank you for posting your updated pics...I can't wait to see them together :paw :hp :paw !
