Oh Patty...I just :hp your sweet Lasey. I don't have any info for you on senior cockers as mine are still young but I had to comment on your precious girl. I hope to have mine in my life for as long...as Lisa commented...what a blessing.

Oh sweet senior face. :love Puppies are great, but something about seniors tuggin at your heartstrings. :hp We too don't have any senior cockers, only young ones here, but we had a springer mix that lived to be about 14. Should I post a couple pictures of her?

My dear Holly is 12 1/2 and still hanging inthere. She has medical issues, limping and arthritis. She is scheduled for surgery next week to remove a painful mass on her left front paw. As long as she hangs in there I will keep her around. I wish she can last up to 17.

I am sending good thoughts and prayers for Holly. :hp Miss Lasey definetly has her limping and medical issues etc. but as long as she is happy and getting around..... Thank you all for the good thoughts, she seemed to age quite a lot these last six months.

Aww... what a sweetie! We don't have any seniors at the moment although Ginger is getting there, she will be 9 in May. We had a ^Lacey^ though that made it to 16.7 years of age (photo below), poor thing was blind and deaf by that time though.

Bubba was our oldest Cocker. He died of Cancer at age 14.

Brittany and Barkley both lived to be 11. Buffie lived to be 13.

Our oldest now is Blondie, who will be ten in October. She has a bad heart (two leaky valves) so I don't expect her to set any records for longevity.

My friend had a Cocker who lived to be 18 and another who lived to be 15. I am hoping I have at least one of my current Cockers for 18 years.

My first Cocker (when I was very young) lived to be 13. That was back in the 1950's when no one took their dogs to the Vet or had them vaccinated.

My sweet Feather, the black-and-silver in my avatar, was 17 years and 8 months when she died last November. Oh, how I miss her! I dearly love Cricket now, but I still miss my Feather so much. :cry

I love hearing these stories about the seniors (I love puppies too!) but it really warms my heart reading them - thank you all for sharing - especially the pictures. Their memories will be in our hearts always.

Oh heck, I couldn't resist posting to this thread!

Here's a pic of my Sadie Marie -- who is now 14 years, 3 months. She is doing pretty OK for an old lady! Sadie is still VERY fussy about food (still refuses any and all dog food and dog treats -- no matter where they are from), nighttime diaper-wearing, and spending some good quality sleepy time in her crate during the day when no one is home. When she walks with me around the neighborhood, she walks on the high parts of the curbs -- and not on the sidewalk or the grass. I call her "Sadie-Agility" as I try my best to follow her but tend to lose balance much faster than she does! :goof She also loves outings to the local pet stores and to drive-throughs when my kids are grabbing some food in a hurry. Yes, she continues to "growl-howl" for french fries. :lol3 She has had Cushings Disease for many years and has kept the same medication dose since diagnosis. Go figure! She is still in charge of all of us, including her tri-colored brother, Snoops. All in all, a very happy and pleasant doggie ... and I am so thankful to have her in my life. :hp

We fit right into this club! Peaches is now 14 years and 11 months. :hp

She has slowed down quite a bit, but can chase down a piece of carrot or apple with surprising rapidness. Her hearing is gone for the most part, and loud noises that didn't bother her before now make her jump (pressure cooker, 18-wheeler truck, car horns, etc). She has a lot more warts all over her body and some of them bleed constantly. And the latest: we have to put a "diaper" on her through the day because she leaks quite a bit when sleeping.

Peaches has a LOT of spirit and spunk left in her, even if she can't jump up on the sofa for our afternoon cuddles or hold her bladder for more than an hour. Her heart is still doing well, almost 3 years after her pacemaker surgery. :th-up She owns us, 100%. :love :love :love
