Welcome - you will find such a wealth of information on here. We just moved from Burnsville up to Waite Park (St. Cloud) this summer. Love the pictures of both you and Balou.

Hi everyone! I've alway been a lover of cocker spaniels. My baby girl, Samantha, was brought home 13 years ago and sadly, she passed last month. Everyone I introduced her to became a fan of the breed. I cannot even tell you how many friends now own cockers :sml . My fiance met our girl when she was 9 years old and fell in love. We just found out that a new little girl is on our future and will be in our home next month. We're so excited! She's nameless as of now but I'm sure that will change soon!

Hey! I am Laura, from Texas! :hp My husband and I just got married last June, and here is our family!

It has been a LONG time since I have been on this forum, and I am happy to be back!

My pups are:
Tucker- My little blondie. He was my first cocker spaniel, well, first DOG ever!!! I love him with all my heart... he is the easiest dog- potty trained in a week, wants to please you, daddy's boy, plays with his toys (tears them up), and he sleeps, A LOT! He is almost 7! :hp :hp :hp :hp :hp

Maverick- Well, he fits his name! He is a mess ALL.THE.TIME! But, he loves his mama more than anything! He is such a sweet boy, and a MAJOR cuddler...but he is also the one I have to watch like a hawk or he will have accidents (daily) or chew the sheet rock off the walls. :bang

Hello! Somehow my original post went in as a New Topic. Sorry about that. I will post pictures shortly.
My name is Dawn D. and I have been born and bred into the Cocker world. My grandparents bred Cockers for the field back in the day. Their last Cocker, a stunning Irish Setter colored deep red male named Mister Red (I know...how original :lol2) grew up in our home. When he was 14 the night before I was to fly off for USAF basic training, the bit my face unprovoked and tore my nostril off. Needless to say, I did not go to Basic Training until I had healed. Do you think this threw me off Cockers for ever...NOT! My first adult dog was my heart dog, Honey. Honey and I travelled the country and the world for almost 15 years in the Air Force until she too fell victim of old age ills and dementia. We also rescued a Black cocker while stationed in Monterey California. Our neighbors had fallen in love with Honey, and had found this mess of black fur covered in pink paint that was totally unrecognizable as a Cocker Spaniel until I shaved her down! We named her Gypsy and spent alot of money to correct her horrible teeth and cherry eyes. She went on to live as a Diva with some friends when the Air Force took us to Crete Greece for 3 years.
After the heartbreak of losing Honey and transitioning into the civilian world, we have owned 2 Gordon Setters, 1 English Setter, a rescued Lab Mix and an adopted ShihTzu. I went from the USAF as an Arabic Linguist to becoming a professional Groomer for 14 years. I adopted buff Cocker Jesse from a client that could no longer keep her and they knew what a connection she and I had. Jesse is now 15. She is the sweetest tempered Cocker I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Even my heart dog Honey had some temperament "issues", although not with me.
As I know that Jesse will not be with me forever, I find myself in the search for my next little blond, Sable or black and tan girl puppy. I have reached out to several breeders to be put on puppy waiting lists. I am not looking to show in Conformation, but would like to purchase from a small reputable show breeder who completes all health testing and is known to produce beautifully tempered companions.
We live in Maryland, close to Annapolis and Fort Meade. We would like to find a breeder within one days drive from here. I would appreciate any "connections" that the forum members could provide.

Hi, I'm Jean, I recently adopted a 2 year old male cocker. We are getting along great; though both of use have some work to do. I would love to hear of anyone's experience relating to kayaking, hiking and camping with their dogs. Spring is on it's way and I'll be anxious to get on the water.

New to this forum.
I got my cocker about 3 1/2 years ago when he was about 7 weeks old.
I've always loved cocker spaniels and now I'm blessed with a wonderful
companion.
Here are some pic's of Cannon (Dash was his name with the breeder)

As for myself, I live in south eastern Ontario Canada and work for a telecommunications company, going on about 15 years in the business
( can I retire now......please).

Hi everyone.
I have two cockers, Luna & Rebel. Rebel is Luna's daddy.
We are all from Northern California, but recently move to central Florida.
I will post a picture soon. Right now it keeps telling me my pictures are too big.
I had two other cockers before & when they passed I wasn't going to have any more dogs. Then I saw Luna's mama & she look just like my last cocker. When I found out she was having puppies my husband knew I was going to want one, surprise birthday present. The owner is a very close friend to my daughter & they gave her the daddy, Rebel. My daughter could no longer keep him. So my gain.

Welcome, Luna's Mom! :wv I am in Central Florida, too - near Daytona Beach. Here is a link to how to post pictures:

https://www.zimfamilycockers.com/Forums ... ?f=14&t=14

Cockers are a rare breed in this part of Florida, so be prepared for a lot of people to comment on yours!
I think every time I'm out with Gromit, someone will remark about her and mention "I had one (or knew someone who had one) when I was a kid"...

We'll look forward to those pictures. :th-up

Welcome to the forum. I'm in southwest Florida and unlike where Darra is, cockers are abundant. On my street alone we have 6 counting my 2. Can't wait to see a pic of Luna

Hi!
My name is Melissa and I live in Moore, Oklahoma with my husband, Jim, a retired firefighter. We have two grown daughters and two sons in law and four amazing grandchildren with another on the way.

We had our buff, baby girl Lexi, for twelve years. Two months ago, we had to have her put down due to kidney failure and possible pancreatic cancer. It was one of the saddest days of my life. She gave us so much joy those 12 years. I had never seen my husband grieve the way he did, but he is home all day and Lexi was his constant companion.

We have decided we are ready for another baby, so we are anxiously waiting for the first week in June to travel to Waco, Texas to adopt our new little boy, Baxter. Baxter is a Black and White Parti. I found this forum while surfing the web for tips and advice to hopefully be a good mama to our new little boy. Having a boy will be a new experience for us and I'm sure I will check out this forum often. I will be posting pics of Baxter soon!

HELLO, EVERYONE! :wv :hp

My name is Michele(It's a male name). I'm from Italy. I'm nearly thirty years old. I'm very happy to be a member of the community "The Zim Family Cocker Spaniel". I love Cocker Spaniel. I think, they are most beautiful dogs in the world. My Cocker Spaniel is beautiful tawny. He is nearly ten years old. He is my first Cocker Spaniel. I got him at four months a breeder. His name is Frodo.
One year for dog is like ours seven years!?!?...Is it true or false?... someone can answer my question, please.

P.S. I don't write very well english. Can you correct me, please?.

Gentlewoman, Debbiefive. Thank you for your answer. I don't know it. He may have less than seventy years old.

Yeah, of course. He is my cutie baby. I love him. In future I hope He will give me a beautiful puppy.
