Dont worry about your big boy, he will fit right in here with all the others. I for one had a HUGE boy named Tucker and at his highest weight he was a whopping 65lbs. We tried all kinds of diet foods and the vet just wouldn't listen when I asked her to check his thyroid saying it couldn't be the problem because he just eats to much. Our poor boy was only getting 1 1/2 cups of food per day and no treats and always hungry. After changing back to our old vet we used before we moved he suggested that we check Tuckers thyroid and is levels were low. Once he was put on meds he started to lose the weight and became more active and happy. In less than a year he dropped 10 pounds.
Just a thought but if your worried about his weight have him checked out. There are a lot of cockers with thyroid problems and once on meds they lose weight and become active and happy once again.

Hello my name is MaryK and I finally decided to join the forum after many (10+) years following this website. I am from Salem Oregon and own 3 cocker spaniels, 1 is 8 years old his name is Kolbee, and 2 are 5 years old one is Abbee and the other is Kirbee. I promise once I figure out my way around the forum I will post picture of my little wiggle butts.

Welcome Mary. I also have 3 cockers (one a year old and 2 3 years old) plus a french brittany. I now live in Utah but I lived in Silverdale, WA for many years and visited your area many times. I am glad you decided to join. Can't wait to see a picture of your fur babies.

Greetings from NC, Hello all I'm Christopher and I am owned by two beautiful Cocker spaniels..
Colby who is going on 9mo and Abby who is now 13 weeks old.. I am divorced and have one adult daughter (Wendi) .. So its just me and my two dogs.. they are a lot of company and keep me from talking to myself... I am in my early 50's and would like to get into showing someday.. I have taught myself how to groom my own dogs and I have been told that I do a pretty good job When I decided that the Cocker was the breed for me I started doing some research on the breed.. that's how I found this forum.. both of my Cockers come from show breeders who do testing.. I was told by so many people that Cockers had too many health issues and they tried to talk me out of this wonderful breed.. I work here in the town that I live in just about 6 min from my home, so its easy for me to come home on my lunch hour to check on them and let them out to potty... ( helps big time with the puppy ) She is a hand full right now.. Colby is away getting some adult training.. I hope he brings home some knowledge for the little one... I have been a member of this site since March 2011 and really enjoy coming here for info or just to kill some time... I canceled my act with face book so now I have more time to spend here

Yes, they certainly do!! It amazes me every month how much dog food we go through considering he only weighs 35lbs I wonder where it all goes...

Hi Debbie my original post was Aug 7 and it is on this page (14) about 3/4 of the way from the top. I need to get more current pictures of the kids but I just wanted to show them off as any proud parent would. :)
