Hi! My name is Jessica. My boyfriend & I live in Louisville, KY. I am real estate broker & he owns a mortgage company. We met 11 years ago at University of Kentucky, traveled, then came back to Louisville to about 6 years ago. Last year, we finally felt we would be able to be home enough & our schedules be flexible enough to bring home a pup. After researching what type of dog would best fit our lifestyle, we felt a cocker was the way to go. We loved him so much that we just got our 2nd one last week!:) There are photos below of us and our boys. Joe Cocker (14 month old buff) & Johnny Rotten (2 month old parti color). They have been an absolute joy! Our first year with Joe - was so fun - we laughed everyday. He is gorgeous & has the sweetest temperment. I really wanted him to have a doggie friend so we decided on another one just a month ago, Johnny Rotten. And boy does he fit his name! It's so funny to see their little personalities. Joe is so sweet & patient with the puppy. Johnny Rotten is independent, spunky, & fearless. We are having a blast watching them become fast friends. I look forward to converse with a group of people that have a mutual love for cockers to share advice & experiences!

Hi! Happy to have found this forum! I am certain to have many questions!

I am Erin. I have 5 young kids. We had a black cocker spaniel for 11 years, Norman, who passed away last year. We started our search for a new little fella a couple of months ago. We met and fell in love with "Layla", a chocolate and tan cocker girl, who will come home with us in two weeks when she's 8 weeks old. We are super excited and a little nervous about having such a young pup in the house.

This was Norman. He thought HE was the baby. :)

What a great idea Em! Hello I am Gabriella. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and we have 4 cockers. Bruce is our "first born" He brought so much joy and fun to our life. Pepsi came second. She is our little "trouble maker". She is the "wild child in the group. Although with her sweet, loving temperament I can never stay mad at her and I love her to death! We are very proud of her because she made it all the way til the end and became a champion. Madison is the third. She is the ultimate "good girl". She is my shadow who fallows me every where I go. I am very close to her. Many of you know me from this forum though lately I haven't been on it much but I think this is new about us that we have a new family member named Summer. She came to us last year in Aug. . She is our little "Duracell pup" who can not sit down for one second. Does not matter how much I walk her or play with her she does not get tired.

Although I sort of did this in another thread when I joined this great forum in the Fall of 2010. My Avatar is Wiggles. So here goes:

My name is Mark. I'm 61 and single. Gibson Van "Wiggles" lives with my 19 year old son (Tyler) and I at the central New Jersey Shore. We rescued our boy "Wiggles" in August of 2008 when he was 8 months old. (Check out the previous mentioned thread for that whole sad story with a happy ending).

Tyler attends Community College and works at a local supermarket part time. I work for the Army, but due to base closure, I will retire in September 2011 with just over 42 years of federal service within the Department of Defense.

Wiggles has it made, living the bachelor's life with us. He "helps" me work on my Streetrods and enjoys attending the local cruise nights with me. He is fixture at the shop where I keep my 1940 Ford Hot Rod. He likes to go for rides. Bugs in his face and ears in the wind as he hangs out the passenger window is one of his favorite things to do. He's actually made laps around the local stock car track with me! We make almost daily trips to local County "Doggie Park" only half a mile from our home, where he "hogs" the tennis balls. He has really enhanced our lives.

I tell Wiggles that when "we" retire we're moving to a new home in "s-lower" Delaware and we'll get to become old men together...he just wags his nub!

Mark, Wiggles certainly is a beautiful dog.

Hello! My name is Calley Paul and yesterday we just welcomed eleven month old Jacob (Previously Jack) into our home. I fear he may have been neglected at his old home, they shaved him bald! In the pictures I first saw of him he looked so sad, and when we got him home he cried all night. But today he seems to have opened up to up ( ) and is actually a really lovable dog. His fur has grown back slightly and now that I look at his ears they are plump with fur. (I should have pictures as soon as his fur grows back a little bit).

He is a parti colored (Is that what you call it?) white with cream patches. I absolutely ADORE him. He sleeps in my room at night and is good with basic commands and whatnot.

Hi, I've been lurking here for a while but as we finally got our cocker spaniel, I thought I'd introduce us. I'm Julie and my daughter is Valerie, she is dog crazy and I've also always loved dogs. We're from Sacramento, California, she's a sixth grader and I'm her mom, an RN. Growing up I had pugs, but I've always liked cocker spaniels as well. I had a friend who had a pair of cockers, unfortunately they were overweight and I always thought they looked just like little golden twinkies from above!

The pictures are of Brooke, our new puppy, and her friend Calcifer. The cat is 8 months old and they've bonded. When I practice obedience with Brooke he comes running over too to learn "sit" and "down", he wants the dog treats :)

Anyway, I really appreciate all the advice available on these forums, thank you everyone! I'm sure I'll need it in the days ahead!

I'm more of a reintroduction. I joined the forum 4 years ago when I first brought Emmit home, we had no plans for another dog at that point but long story short he was meant to be with us. Emmit is a sable parti and really just a sweet guy. Somewhere along the line my ID went off into digital space and I just lurked since then, but I am back.

I live in New Jersey, married and mom to two 17 year olds. I also have a 9 year old Golden Retriever Duncan and a couple of cats.

I do not think I would have survived my children's teen years if it weren't for my dear dogs ;)

My name is Amy Allred, and I live in a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah. My husband and I have two cocker spaniels. They are Abby and Sadie. They are full sisters and were litter mates. We just adore them. We joke that they are "full of cuteness," and they really are.

Here's a picture of them that I took yesterday. They were just groomed a few days ago. The groomer cut poor Abby, and they had to take her to the vet and have her looked over. Luckily, she was fine, and the groomers just felt awful. They sent us home with a bag of doggie treats and comped the grooming. Abby was no worse for the wear.
