It the second anniversary of making the hard decision to put our first dog down, Abby.

She wasn't the oldest. We still have Lacey who just turned 14 last month.

We miss her everyday.

I wish she was still here.

Of the five dogs I have trained in agility, she was the best.

I know how you feel. It will be two years in May since Holly passed, but some days it feels like yesterday.

I don't want to even think about having to make such a decision. Sounds like she had a long, happy and fun life. What a pretty girl she was! Thanks for sharing pics.

I often think my Ruger would have fun doing those agility courses, but not sure it'd be good for his knees. His rear legs have luxating patella which is better now since he's been taking glucosamine. Pardon me if this is a dumb question, but is that agility course in your backyard or at a training center?

Loss of a beloved pet is always very hard to endure. When starting to feel sad, I just try to remember the good times. As Cocker Spaniel owners, we all know of some of these silly little antics that were part of our lives. This is because all Cocker Spaniels are very "silly". No mistake about that.

Hope that this helps a little.

For the last 13 years, with Lacey (14 and healthy), Abby, Teddy, Calvin and now Daisy (a havanees found on the street by our daughter), we have been agility training at a middle school a few miles from our house or at the trainers private course.

The training is great for getting a better relationship with your dog(s) and socializing them.

I love to do it.
