There is a very kind gentleman in my neighbourhood who loves Daisy and helped me clip on my first try.
She was getting a bit shaggy ( which I like ) and he volunteered to take her to a professional so that she would look good for our trip home next week. My initial problem was his concept of looking good. He wanted the full clip that would leave her looking like a cocker and not like Chewbacca ( my preferred look ). We got that one cleared up and I am confident that I will get back a dog I recognize. He also volunteered to take her as he had to go to town anyway. Its an hour away. Very thoughtful of him, right? They have been gone for 6 hours. I am starting to panic that something has gone terribly wrong.

I panicked about 5 minutes too early. She's back and looks like a refined wookie.

I'm glad it all turned out ok. The timing sounds about right, an hour drive each way, and it takes me a good four hours to bathe, blow dry and clip/trim a long-haired cocker, maybe even longer, depending on the texture of the coat. My parti girl with the "cotton coat" takes longer to dry and trim, my black-n-tan girl with the really nice textured and full coat dries super fast, and her trim is easy.
