OREGON!!!

I am thrilled :happy to announce the 2018 ASC Cocker Spaniel National Show will be at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center in Albany, Oregon, July 25 - 29. There will be so much to do and see -- I think we should consider the 2018 national specialty a "destination" dog show. Time to plan a Forum Get Together and Pupalooza, it has been far too long sense we have done that!

More details to come in the upcoming months. In the mean time, reserve your vacation time and consider training your cocker to compete in some of the many performance events that will be offered, in addition to the conformation show.

I can't wait until 2018!

Chris,
Several us ASC members have been looking for Zone 4 (Western States) sites for over a year. Stephanie Kaul will be Show Chair in 2018 and she did a wonderful job in presenting Albany, OR as a site that will meet the needs of exhibitors and can produce a profitable show.

Goodie! Just a bit over 200 miles from home. Puppers and I can drive that even if we can't compete.

We will be looking at having many types of events, including some non-competition clinics of fun things to do with your cockers. The goal is to make 2018 THE destination dog show of the decade!

Just checked Mapquest and it is 900 miles, 15 hours and 1 minute for me from So. Pasadena to Albany, OR. But Calgary to Albany is a mere 869 miles, 14 hours and 59 minutes. Can you hold a good parking spot for me for those two minutes :bg .

Wonderful Kelly! Look forward to seeing you and the KLAD Kids!

And I'm right in the middle, starting in northern California: 545 miles, 9 hours and 31 minutes, though we will probably stop after the first 200 miles and spend the night with my mom, which will make for an easy 7.5 hour drive the next day. One of the nice things is that most of those Oregon rest stops are truly beautiful and all are very dog friendly.

It was close to 30 hours to get from Calgary to Gray Summit, MO so this will feel like nothing. It's going to be a great time for sure!

And the scenery is so much better going to Oregon.
