DAY ONE - Photo's and some info on his experiences - so far SO GOOD.

First Photo :
Rebel in his car tote.. He tried to get out.. but all I had to do was tuck him back in and stick my hand in for the ride home. He fell asleep in no time.

2nd Photo: During awake hours. He has the entire kitchen - and the breakfast area. A lot of free roaming space. Hallway not opened up yet - which is next - but long hall where we will exercise him with the ball.
His pee pad is out but he does not need it (Unless I make a mistake and forget to take him out).
His crate has more toys and his rug that Mommy Gale slept with so he can smell her - (which he definitely noticed and found comfort in last night). When the time comes that he is left alone, we bring in the xpen to be sure he is safe. When in kitchen we are with him (sitting at the table - working)...
This is how we did it with Arlo as well and it worked out great.

3rd Photo: His stroller:
So, we live VERY much in the city.
Last night he heard a fire engine for the first time and gave me the RCA dog look. I told him it was a fire engine in a very happy voice and he skipped off with no concern. Now when he hears the sirens - he RUNS into his crate to see through the back towards the door where the sound comes from - TAIL WAGGING. We've already made it a game - like "What's that Rebel? Is it a fire engine?!"
So, to be sure he is exposed to all the city sounds (Arlo does not like the truck sounds) .. We took him for coffee at our beautiful favorite place - Graffiti Sublime Coffee - where he was introduced to his new pals (but no touching yet - due to his age) .. Then, went up the street RIGHT on La Brea with very loud passing by traffic (including the big trucks) and he was oblivious - where he went to sleep. When he goes to sleep we zip it shut so he awakes to being inside - This is make him more and more comfortable with his crate where he will always sleep.

4th Photo :
Arlo likes the stroller too - but for different reasons. He's a prince and loves to be pampered.
We had to break it to him that he has to walk. :)

5th Photo:
The xpen in the Den. So, after dinner we take a walk with Arlo and Rebel in the stroller.
Then we retreat to the Den where we watch some TV and I continue to work on my laptop.
Rebel goes into the Xpen. Last night he went right over to the rug that smelled like Gale and was calm - and fell asleep. After a few bathroom runs - he and I headed to bed with the exact same set up as the den (I just move the rug. The crate comes in too - which I THINK I'll attach to the xpen with the rug in the crate - so he can sleep in the crate with it open - but attached to the xpen. That's the plan anyway.

:)

Would you like to adopt me too? So happy that everything's going well. Miss the little guy and so does Stormy his most constant playmate in the litter.

What a doll, and I am sure he will give you a barrel of fun and laughter :happy . Hubby isn't ready to settle down, still wants to travel in RV and he says one is enough while doing that! And I will have to get up early and walk with him as he wont walk two! I am not a morning person, 8AM is rough :tg

Have fun with your new baby, how is Arlo doing accepting him? Hope he enjoys his new playmate.

Rebel is one lucky pup!
I always knew you and Melinda were awesome doggy parents, and seeing the set up for Rebel and everything planned for your two pups confirms this.
Best of luck to you both with Rebel and big brother Arlo!
All the fun is just beginning!
Looking forward to hearing lots more regarding Arlo's and Rebel's escapades.

Thanks for the posts. And, thanks Marianne - that means a lot. :)

Happy to hear the set up seems good.
Gale has been an amazing help. And, sadly (for her) I call her like 10 TIMES a day - LITERALLY.
We learned SO much with Arlo. He really is the first born - very sweet yet a serious side.
The new baby is all love and willing to explore and also VERY SMART.

I'll write in a few days about the food we will be feeding him.

On Wednesday the dog trainer comes and in a few weeks the puppy agility trainer.
No agility yet (too young for the bones) - but little play things that get him ready.
He already goes through the tunnel, sometimes on demand! :)

And, oh yeah- looks like he is already thinking about his teething from the looks of this photo.

Little stinker, LOL. Who needs Netflix when you have a puppy in the house?

Oh Dear God - I am not sure I can survive this.

Rebel will be gone for 5 WEEKS from us.
He is with Stephanie Herrmann who will handle him and show him for us.
Rebel will be at the Costa Mesa show the first week of December.
I get to visit him one time.

Here is a photo of him a few days before he went away.
He is SO sweet and has my heart hook line and sinker.

He will be fine! He will NOT forget you and will appreciate being home again when the time comes. Stephanie has already messaged me that he is doing great and fitting right in with the pack... Time will pass quicker than you think and I believe he will come home with his "other dog" issues fixed which will make him a better companion and performance dog. Chin up!
