Hi All :hi
Funny how things change -- last Friday I was successfully competing at the AKC Agility National Championships :run and now I’m reporting from The Bridge. Yesterday’s trip to The Bridge was fast and a big surprise because I hadn’t been sick. I tracked with Mom in the morning and got a bath in the afternoon. I was feeling really lethargic and just laid quietly on the grooming table – that’s when Mom got suspicious that something was wrong. She checked my gums and they were pale. Mom and Dad rushed to me the vet office that is minutes from our house. The vet did some fast tests but I wasn’t really processing what was happening. I was so tired. An ultrasound showed an 11 inch tumor growing from my kidney and it had ruptured. My gums were white and I couldn’t focus. Mom and Dad decided to give me an express ticket for The Bridge rather than having me get up there on my own sometime later in the night. Everyone was crying. I was sad :cry .
But there was a party going on at The Bridge :Dance. Rosey has been at The Bridge since Jan. 31 and was the first to greet me :Wlcm; next were are all the other cockers/cat/rabbits Mom and Dad have had over the years. Then there were all the Zim Forum Cocker Friends :Clap . So many of them! And I was to report back (I guess I’m still a roving reporter up here) that they are having a marvelous time, but they miss you all. Miss Maxine has the most shining eyes and Isabel is so confident. Eli and I are making plans to go play ball. Farley and I have a date to reminisce over our past adventures at ASC national specialty shows. My social calendar is filling up.

Of course there was an orientation meeting and I saw fellow California cockers, DeeDee and Maggie Mae, who arrived recently. At the orientation, this saintly-looking dude told us all the wonderful things we could do up here. But then he turned and looked at me and said “There will be NO BUTTHEAD CLUB MEETINGS.”

How do you think he knew :dk ?

Respectfully submitted,

Dear Solo! You are one of the very finest reporters! I'm glad you're having a grand time, but you will be so missed here on Earth. Please find my Feather, too, and make sure she and Maggie Mae have met.

Colleen, I am so sorry, my heart is breaking. Hugs.
Too many of our beloved cockers in just a few short months so far this year.

Dear Solo,

Mom just read your post to me through her tears. :cry Remember me? I'm beautifully black just like you. You were a great reporter and were coming into your own in competition. I hope you've seen Rosey - tell her hi from me. She taught me a lot about tracking. I'm glad you didn't have to lay in pain, that would have been horrific. Mommy sez she's sending prayers for your mom and dad. We know it's hard to lose one cocker, let alone two. Please give our condolences to your folks. We love you and will miss you!

:hp :hp :hp

Sadie

PS - Colleen & Randy, You gave Rosey and Solo such wonderful lives. I hope you can feel some comfort from your warm memories of the years you had together. There's one thing we all know: Rosey and Solo had some of the most wonderful times together in competitions, training, traveling and just hanging out with their folks who loved them dearly. Sending (((HUGS))).

Solo,
DeeDee will love to play with you all. but watch her...she plays ball really well and figures out how to send a ball to others using her paw like a pool cue...she does angles really well. Keep each other company until we arrive.
Colleen, I am so sorry .....words are inadequate.I hope you find some peace.

There are too many tears and yet not enough. Deepest condolences on such a loss. He was truly one of the great ones and the Bridge is going to be shaking.

Oh Solo...........I just can't stop crying. Thank for reporting from the Bridge and seeing my baby Eli. I hope he is behaving himself. He has a habit in finding ways to get into trouble.

Solo, I am so glad you didn't have to suffer. Please say Hi to my Penny. She loves to play ball. You can't miss her - she's a beautiful blonde with LONG eyelashes.

Oh Solo! I am sad that you aren't down here with us anymore... but I am so very happy that you are free from pain and having a blast with your old friends. You are one cool guy and the best roving reporter around.

Colleen, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the shock of having to say goodbye to your boy so suddenly.

I remember reading your posts about Solo and Rosey's adventures in tracking, obedience, and agility about a year ago, when I first found this forum. I laughed, I cried (I still get teary when I read the thread about Solo's TDX track), and I wanted to try it with my dog, too! You and your wonderful (not to mention incredibly photogenic) Cockers inspired me to enroll in classes with my own dog. We are having so much fun together - and Betty is gaining some much-needed confidence. That's thanks to Solo, and Rosey, and you. :hp

Colleen, I am so sorry, I did not know you also lost Rosey. They were two cockers that had the finest life, filled with adventure, love, and a wonderful family. It sounds like a great big party up there. My heart is hurting so much for you and Marsha and Chris.

Chris, I also did not know about Maggie Mae, I am so sorry. She had a wonderful, loving final 7 months with you.

Oh Colleen I am so sorry for Solo's departing. I am out of words, could not believe the news. I don't get to browse here a lot lately so I had no idea Miss Rosey also crossed the bridge. I am pretty sure there is a super party up in heaven. My Holly must be welcoming Solo. I am going to miss Solo's reports. Maybe he can give us some reports from up there. My prayers with you guys.

Oh Solo, I have read and re-read this over and over again. And I cry again every time. You will be so sorely missed by all your fans, but especially your momma and daddy. Run free little Soul Man. We'll be praying for your family to heal from this loss. But we know you are ok where you are. Be sure to give some good wet cocker kisses to all our little love bugs who have gone before. We will meet again. Meanwhile, run free little one.

We just saw Solo Friday morning when he was showing us rookies how to Track. It was amazing and so heart warming to see Solo lay down at the beginning of his Tracking and wagging his tail.
The most loving sweet sweet essence ... It was such an honor to meet you Solo.

How precious the time... How beautiful the memories. I wish to extend my condolences and deepest Sympathy. I cannot stop crying as I learn of your loss of Solo and reminded of all those who have shared their losses.

Grief comes and goes and can be calm and then again overwhelming . . . remember that grief is just a shadow compared to bond of love shared and treasured from deep within.

Solo, When you get got up with all of your friends and have the time to check out some of the cockers who have been there for awhile, would you mind looking up my Blackie. You'll find him in water somewhere, possibly under it. Would you mind telling him that for 50 years he has been my standard of what a good dog should be and I still miss him.
It's sad that you had to leave your people too soon and I know that you will be always cherished in their hearts.

OMG Colleen! First Rosey's and now Solo, so soon.
I am so sorry to hear this. I loved reading Solo's reports, and his successes, even considering his membership in the butthead club, were what gave me the confidence to start competing with Gomit in agility. I still have a t-shirt that I ordered several years ago which has Solo doing agility, and I wear it for good luck evey time we compete!

Your dogs are true ambassadors for the breed, and I will miss all the stories you shared.

Again, I am sooo very sorry!

I am so very sorry for both of your losses. Rosie was one of my absolute favorites - such a beauty - and Solo lived up to his name "one of a kind." To lose two such treasures in such a short time has to be devastating for you and I will keep you in my prayers for peace and healing. Please take care.

Solo, just a week ago, we were in Reno competing with you at the Agility Nationals. You had some awesome runs and your Mom was so happy with you. I guess you had completed everything on your Bucket List, and what a full list it was too!! Your Mom will miss you, but her heart will be full of great memories that you shared. Good bye dear boy. Teri and Zoey

Colleen, our thoughts are with you. Hugs!! :hp

Solo, I still cannot believe that you are gone from this three dimensional world! :cry I know that you are in a wonderful place and that I will see you again someday. You and my Big Sis Rosey were my very first agility friends. You and I had some things in common that drove our moms crazy like dropping bars and I always felt I had a wonderful companion that I could commiserate with. Now that you have left me alone I guess I'd better get my act together more.

I miss you terribly but I'm so glad we got to spend some nice time together in Reno sharing meals every night and talking about our runs. I will look after Auntie Colleen and will always carry you in my heart.
