So we have been starting to cut down on Annie's prednisone for her IMHA. We went down to 25 mg. from 30 mg. daily. Her numbers went UP! She is at 37 now and seems to be doing well. We hope to have her down to 20 mg. daily in two to three weeks. The not-so-good news is she also developed the facial paralysis that is similar to Bell's Palsy. For that she doesn't need medications but she IS getting eye ointment. There is almost no sign of the paralysis unless you look closely at the back part of her mouth which droops ever so slightly. And so we go on.... :roll

Oh, Vickie, I'm so sorry. In dogs, it is called Horner's Syndrom. My girl had it. Thankfully, it goes away in about 6 or 7 weeks. Don't be shocked if, once the palsy goes away, it aflicts the other side of her face, which often happens.

From this day forward, I declare for Vickie and Bob, NO MORE DOGGIE OR KITTIE HEALTH ISSUES!

The man above must think you can handle anything 'cause that is what you are certainly being handed! Annie is so lucky to have you and Bob to love her.

We are so lucky to have such beautiful, loving creatures given to our care. We certainly won THAT lottery!
