I'll start the sharing :lol

This is the Parade of Rescue (photo taken by Kim Kiernan). Peggy Mundell was the MC.
Stella and John Rowlett and their 3 dogs are on the left, and Cricket and I are on the far right. Cricket is the only dog with her head down, she was just sure she'd find something to eat on that carpet!

Special Thank You to Colleen Keough, who worked hard for this event to be included.

I took more pics, but I just got home from 5 weeks of traveling with Poppy. I will try to post more in the next week or so.

I had every intention of taking lots of pictures at the Nationals, but ... Between running between conformation and performance, talking with breeders, and showing, it just didn't happen. I started off well--took pictures of Gibbs and Shadow fascinated by the pigeons landing outside our room on the 3rd floor and managed to take a picture of our xpen setup, after that nothing.

It's had for me to believe that I got my first cocker (first dog for that matter) just 2 years ago, and here I am showing my dogs at the Nationals. I am thrilled and excited by the results.

On Thursday, Tango went Best of Variety in Cut-down Sweepstakes. She showed really well all 3 times she went into the conformation ring even though she had a new handler. Both her handler and I received many compliments on her as well as many people asking to take her picture. On Saturday, I showed her in Rally, and she completed her Rally Novice title.

Shadow completed his Beginner Novice Obedience title and won second place in the class. I decided to move him up to Rally Excellent for the first time. He was the only dog to qualify in Excellent A or B! So he got first place. It was an extremely difficult course and the judge had high expectations.

Gibbs got his second leg in Beginner Novice Obedience and won first place. He already has his Novice Rally title, qualified again with a score of 94.

In all, we brought home 12 rosettes from the Nationals: 1 BOV Cut-down, 1 Best Black bitch in Cut-down, 2 New title rosettes, 2 first place rosettes, 1 second place rosette, and 5 Qualifying rosettes as well as a fancy snood for Tango for being a champion who titled.

We might have gotten more but I came down with the stomach flu on Sunday and couldn't show. This was one of the few negatives of the whole experience.

My 81 year-old mother also showed her black cocker Majic and finished his Beginner Novice Obedience title placing third.

Anyhow, it was a great experience and I can't wait for next year. BTW, Colleen did a magnificent job as Obedience/Rally chair despite a trip to the ER! And, Stephanie Kaul did a fabulous job as show chair-- Hats off to them and the rest of the show committee for a job very well done!

Congratulations on the wins and new titles for your dogs, Gale!
I saw you there, but didn't get a chance to talk to you, or meet your pups.
Like you mentioned, it was a busy 4 days!

Gale,
I talked to you as we were leaving to come home on Sunday. You were just coming in with your 3 pups and I asked you about your little black and tan...what a cutie she is! I fell in love with her when I seen you in the ring on Sat. Sorry I didn't know you were a member here :sad

Here is a link to the Parade of Titleholders that shows, Solo, Rosey, & Star. It is hard to hear the announcer because of side conversations. But you can see Kelly and Farley as well.

THANK YOU COLLEEN!!! :YAY I really enjoyed watching this video with some of my very favorite people and dogs showcased. :hp

Just a note:

I have known Kelly for a very long time, along with Farley. We met at my first Nationals back in 2004 in Indianapolis. I remember a very unsure but capable young lady and an eager cocker named Farley. It warms my heart to see the level of success that they have accomplished. I'm proud to call her "friend".

I have to second Juanita...I met Kelly and Farley at Indy in 2004 also. World's Cutest Dog? Oh my, yes!

Congratulations to all those who won rosettes/ribbons and those who participated!

Thank you for those photos and the very kind words Juanita. That trip in 2004 was so much fun! I still smile when I remember being in Sally's car, and I wish I could get Mr. Pibs here!

I also remember being so nervous that I ate half a container of Tums before Farley and I went into the ring. He looks impossibly young in your photos. Wow.

I thought you were going to make yourself sick on all those Tums. I knew you didn't really need them. :hp
