Wow Vickie, this is just too sad...breaks my heart. She was just so full of life we all fell in Love
Thank God she made the "parade of Rescues". She can now lead the rescued pups over the Bridge.

I am so very sorry.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful cocker...I've so enjoyed the stories of the rapscallion dog, and the family that loved her and set her free to be herself. God bless you in this time of loss.

I cannot express the sorrow that I have right now about Maxine. I don't spend much time on the Forum because things like this get me very upset. Brandy will be 15 in October has has some health issues lately. A year and a half ago he had two cancer surgries, he had an ultrasound last week and is cancer free Praise God, but now he has a Gallbladder issue and is being treated by medications . I bring him every morning to the Vet for fluids. Pray that the medication will work for the Vet said surgery would be too much for him now.

again Maxine I love you even though I never met you, but read a lot about you on the forum. and to his Family I feel your loss.

Sending hugs and prayers for Brandy. :hp I know what you mean about how upsetting these things are. I cried like a baby this morning (boss walked right by and didn't even ask me what was wrong, and I was glad in a way). Each and every time one of our beloved furbabies goes over the rainbow my heart hurts. Not only for the families that lost them, but because I know that one day it will be me saying goodbye. I look at Fudge and I know he's only four, but I know that time passes so quickly. It's simply a thought I can't bear to think of, and each time I read of these losses it's compounded.

Wow, 15 years is a long time, and yet so short. Sending you hugs.... Maxine will put in a good word with da Big One! She's special like that.

Tonya and Fudge

Just popping in on my lunch break real quick to reflect and say I am so happy that my friend told me about this forum. As a mom to my fur baby, I worry about him when I know he's not feeling well and seeing the love and support on here makes my heart happy. Still sad today when I think of Maxine, but seeing how much love we all have for this wonderful creature of God and the support for Vickie and Bob is amazing. I think too that it is this common bond that allows something so sad and difficult to be a little more bearable for those that go through something like this. It's never easy losing a family member, but the memories will last a lifetime.

I make monthly donations to a local Cocker Rescue organization (my mom has one of their rescues too and she's a sweetheart!). My July donation was made just prior to my signing on and this month's donation had a little extra in it and it was made in Maxine's honor. RIP sweet girl.

:hp Our hearts are with all the fur babies who have gone to the bridge and when they get there we know THE BIG ONE will be there to take care of them and restore them back to health. They will run again, see again, and will be waiting for their owners and loved ones when their time comes.
THANK YOU MAXINE for showing so many people the true meaning of unconditional love and forgiveness. You made a BIG difference in this world in the short time you were here. We will all miss you very much sweet girl and your mama and papa will always remember the sweet girl you were and how much you changed and they changed for the short time you were in their lives.
Oh and Maxine could you
Please tell my boy Tucker that his mom and dad miss him every day and we will see him again and that his mom said to tell him your a very special young lady and he should stick with you because you both had big hearts full of love for everyone.

Today, as promised, I made a donation to Florida Cocker Rescue (Floridacocker.com) in Miss Maxine's memory. While on the site, I started looking at the dogs available for adoption. I don't even know why I looked, since hubby's allergies limit me to one dog. But in the list of "the girls" was a cocker named :hp Maxine, with the comment "this dog has been adopted".

The little furbaby didn't look like Miss Maxine, but I still couldn't help but get goosebumps!
Here's hoping this Maxine ended up with as loving a family as Miss Maxine did.

How can I cry this much for a dog I've never met? Because brave, dear Maxine brought so much joy to this forum. Thank you, Vickie, for giving her a real home of love and family and safety and fun. And thank you for all your posts that have celebrated the perspective of this special girl, and for letting us all feel like she was our girl, too.
