Do you all think / believe that our Rainbow Bridge babies sometimes visit us?

I know this question seems a bit odd ( I'm odd too...LOL), but what are your thoughts and/or experiences on this?

I wanted to throw this question out there, before I say much else -as I don't want to be the only "weird" one here ! :gig

Matt.

Of course...I have no doubt, whether it is a dream. a message from the ethers, a flash that catches your eye, comfort in a tough moment....Yep they visit.

I don't know if they necessarily visit us... But I believe that they visit the family.
There are some things that Daisy does now that she hasn't done for her entire life. Distinct things that she just starts to do one day for no reason at all. Things that only Grandma Spot used to do, that I've never seen another dog do.
Spot and Daisy had never met, but I swear that Spot whispers in Daisy's ear sometimes!

Yes, I believe they do - especially those that are our "heart" dogs.

Absolutely! For weeks after I lost my Coriander I could feel him jump up on the bed if I cried. I still "see" him and his best buddy Kat walking in the house from time to time.

Isn't that what everyone calls "sending a postcard"?

I absolutely believe they visit! I believe Chloes been here. Like Vickie I've felt her here from time to time especially when I'm upset and once in a blue moon Noel will look at me differently for just a split second as only Chloe used to and I could swear it was her. So if that makes me weird then I'll gladly join the club! :gig

Oh, yes, I believe that they come to visit. I find that they come more frequently right after going to the Bridge, and it decreases over time.

My heart kitty Taz passed about a year ago and I used to see him come to the basement window sometimes when I was doing laundry at night. He used to like to scratch on the window and ask to come in when he was here.

Man oh man I hope so. I say it that way because my only pet I lost had spent her last 6 years with my ex and his new family. I truly believe in postcards and I pray my pups don't get so very distracted by the glories at the bridge that they forget to 'write'. (You haven't seen mine at their dog dishes and the bridge promises to be so much more).
I love hearing stories of visits of any kind. It keeps the hope alive for the rest of us. Hope is what we cling to so!
I hope you got a post card...if you think you might have then you absolutely did, Matt (and it doesn't make you any nuttier than before you got it... :neen )!

The following is my post on The Rainbow Bridge section of the Forum, before it crashed. Joey continued to send me postcards - he put one of his tennis balls in the middle of the kitchen on Isabel's adoption day, for example. Other people tell me he has taught their pups to send postcards home from the Bridge also. (And Vickie thinks he encourages Maxine in her mischief - but that's another matter.)

"This morning as I was beginning to wake up, I saw a beautiful array of whirling tiny dots. As I continued to look, I realized that they were not all in the same plane, and that they were sparkling different colors. I recognized them - a galaxy slowly spinning. As I peacefully enjoyed watching them, I knew what it was. It was a postcard from Joey.

Joey was the most cheerful guy you can imagine. He was an athlete, a trickster and my constant companion. He was a champion eater and a ball player who used his feet as well as his mouth to keep those tennis ball in motion. He protected his home and loved ones with his loud and energetic bark, but he never once bit anyone.

I couldn't begin to tell you who Joey was - we'd still be here hours from now. Years and years of children in my class have heard stories of Joey the Naughty Dog, and we've all learned things from them. For example, we've learned that it could happen that you might be naughty, but everyone loves you still. I'm not going to stop telling those stories - they're part of me, just as Joey himself is.

Joey, thank you for the postcard! I loved it, and I know I'll hear from you more. I love you!"

I've had a few postcards from Henry. Ellie has started doing a few things he always used to do. And Hetty is alarmingly like him, I really think at times she is channeling his spirit! I just hope he sends a few of his good ways down the line as well as his naughtiness!

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts, experiences, and stories !

I was more or less afraid to throw this question out there -but I needed to check my sanity just a tad ! LOL. :gig

When Ariel went to the Bridge in 2007 - I started getting frequent "visits or postcards" by means of flickering lights through-out the house. No rhyme or reason to which lights - different lamps, night lights, recessed lighting, ceiling fan lights, etc. Sudden "flickers" that seemed to last for a minute or 2, then stop. The visits were more frequent at first, but they never went completely away. ( Yes, the bulbs were good!).

I moved to my new home in January 2009. This was evidence to me this was NOT an electrical problem, as the same thing with the lights occasionally occurred at the new home.

Sidney went to the bridge last month - and for 2 weeks this happened frequently at various hours of the day and night ( different areas of the house). I don't know if it was her, or Ariel...LOL..or both...but I knew I was getting postcards ! I hope they keep sending them. They were my first 2 cockers, and were like sisters.

Thanks again.

Matt.

The rainbow bridge is located in the heart of anyone who ever lost a treasured companion ... it's not off in some far away secret place. We carry the bridge and our loved ones with us always. Sometimes we are just more in tune to what they are telling us, so we feel their presence more.

Well put, Cindy. I know my beloved Tuppence is still with me, though I don't feel her nearly as often these days as I did before Bisou came to join our family.
