I can't believe I'm having to write this, but while we are away on a lovely sailing holiday, George had a stroke out of the blue on Friday and my poor friend had to have him pts last night. There's no way we could have got to him as it's so isolated here and we're nowhere near an airport, but I still feel awful we weren't there and Philly had to deal with it. He was 14 and had never had any major problems. He'd only had his yearly health check last week and was fine :-(

I'm so sorry. This is heartbreaking. One of my greatest fears is that something would happen to my baby while I was away, especially as they get older. Run free at The Bridge sweet George. Sending hugs.

Oh Lucy!

I loved hearing about George and his lovely little sisters, and you have some wonderful memories of him to give you comfort. Focus on the long and happy life you gave him and not on the end. He would not want you to be sad.

Lucy, You have my deepest sympathy in your loss of George. So very sorry that you couldn't be with him. It's the hardest thing in the world to go through. Think of your boy running free at the Bridge with all of the forum pups that have gone before him.
With love and prayers,
Gail and Reese

I so loved the pictures of George exploring the beautiful hills and meadows of England. Such a sweet dog and wonderful companion he was to you and yours. He was a great ambassador for the breed there in England. He is now happy to roam the many hills at the Rainbow Bridge until you come for him again. Sending love and Cocker kisses from Oregon, USA

Thank you everyone for your kind words. We have his ashes home and at some point Stephen will scatter them in the hills that they enjoyed together for so many years. :hp

Dear Lucy,
My deepest sympathy to you. Your stories you would tell of George's adventures were fun to read. My favorites were when he was so muddy from his hikes and how he needed a bath.

My deepest sympathies, Lucy. George has always been a forum favorite - and famous for his "walkies." How special that you can return him to the places he loved the most. Take care.

Lucy,
I am sorry to read that George has passed. I remembered how you brought him with you when you came to a Pupalossa many years ago.
