The evening of 3/10/15 was one of the toughest evenings our family has ever experienced since being together. I am just now able to finally post about this. We had our eldest Cocker Maddie put down. She was 15 and one of the of the toughest old girls we ever met.

It is with heavy heart we let her go over that Rainbow Bridge to doggie paradise. I can only hope she knows how much she was loved by her Mom, Dad, Tim & Renee, Grandma & Grandpa, Sandy, Tyler, Jaxon, Reese, & Bodee.

Maddie you will really be missed as part of the Grawe household....

Love ya baby girl...

I'm so sorry. It is never easy to let them go and even harder to say it (or post it) and make it real.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Robin. I hope the days of saddness lessen and the days of smiles and remembrance of Maddie replace the sad days, but the love and warmth she had for you give you comfort.

I'm late seeing this post, but wanted to add my condolences, too. The later years are so hard on everyone and letting them go is impossibly difficult. Maybe Maddie and Shiloh have hooked up at the Bridge and are plotting. We should both be scared, LOL. I hope your family is beginning to heal.

I just saw this and wanted to offer my condolences to you and everyone who loved your Maddie.
It is so hard to let these special pups go! Sending Hugs your way.

I look at my 13+ year old Louie, and count each day that he is still with us as a blessing & a gift.

Thank you for your all of your kind posts! It truly means a lot to have other who understand how we feel.

My rescue boy, Tyler, came to the Grawe herd 12/4/04... he was left in the night depository as our local humane society and we saw his picture and fell in love.

He is truly the best dogs we have ever had, with all of the health issues (cataracts/surgery, PRA, vestibular syndrome (twice), allergies, and horrible ear infections- which we now have under control with allergy shots and a grain free diet, blew his ACL out 3 years ago and had successful surgery) and now he is completely blind-- but that does not stop him-- he maintains he larger than life personality and never lets anything get him down.

When we adopted him they thought he was 6 months - 1 year old-- so that now makes him 12-13ish. I am not ready to have to let another one go anytime soon.

We just love this boy to pieces-- he loves his 2 little brothers, Jaxon and Reese and our son and DIL's boy, Bodee, as well. He is truly one of a kind and they broke the mold with this one.

The people that left him in the night depository did our family a huge favor when we adopted him. Our lives are truly richer for having this little guy... well not so little as he is 33 lbs!!

Robin
