Can you get a chocolate cocker with tan points and a black and white parti cocker in the "same" litter?

I saw a rescue recently say that two of the cockers offered were litter mates. The chocolate cocker had a lot of tan and the parti cocker had a lot of black with freckling on her legs.

So I suppose you can also get a tri from 2 black and tan parents?

I saw a breeder a while back for English cockers who managed to get a 'solid' i.e. chocolate with tan points and a tri (choc tri) in the same litter. But it was from breeding a solid to a tri and there were some resulting mismarks. That may be what happened with those two rescue dogs.

A few color combinations that cannot under any circumstances create other colors.

Buff to buff breeding. You will get only buff puppies. You could get red and white if both parents carried for parti. You cannot get anything with black

Black and tan to black and tan could never create a solid black puppy.

Parti to parti cannot ever produce a solid
