Can anyone tell me if this puppy will be a red or buff parti? Is it possible the coloring will change and it will be a roan? Mother is supposedly a tricolor roan and father is buff. She is a month old now. Thanks

Here is a link to information on Roan Cockers.

http://clestialcockers.com/Roan.html

I would read through it, and make your own determination.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I read thru but it is confusing to me. Would the pup be born almost white and then change? The pup's family do not know much either and can not explain anything. Any educated opinion would really help. She looks like an open marked buff parti to me. Thanks.

IMO, this puppy is an open marked red & white.

My understanding is that roan puppies have a 'halo' of color on the pads of their feet and their muzzle, which starts to darken and spread as the pup gets older. The roaning starts to become very obvious as early as two - three weeks of age.
Roan pups always have at least one roan parent, but not all pups born to a roan parent are roans.

I *think* (but could be wrong) that roan puppies most typically have solid colouring on their head (or almost solid). With the half-mask that this puppy has, I doubt it's a roan.

I agree with Marianne. The puppy IMO is a red/white parti.

I'm curious to know what the puppy looks like now. Jennie is 10 months and looks completely different from her 'baby' pictures.
