I have a one year old black and white little beauty.
I have seen that Partis and Solids should not breed and my girl is a pup from a Parti and a Solid parent. I am wondering if I should expect health problems or if this is for breed standard reasons.

Thank you

I think it's mostly about breed standards. Parti's to solids produce mismarked dogs. While nothing is wrong with them persay, you can't show them. Of course healthy is only as healthy as the parents are.

Parti to solid breedings are no more likely to produce health problems than any other breeding. They are likely to produce mismarked pups which can't be shown in conformation, but can be shown in performance events.

Thank you for your replies, relived that being mis-marked won't cause medical problems. :sml

If your avatar dog is your black and white, just an FYI she's actually a mismarked black. She doesn't have enough white to be classified a parti color.

No Julie the dog in my picture is why I was asking, her parents were Parti and Solid. I was just making sure that the mix was not suggested because of breed standards or if there was a possible medical reason why they should not breed. Really to know if it effects the offspring, my girl, just wanted a heads up if it was something I should expect. Thank yo so much for the reply.

There won't be medical issues by such a breeding just mismarks. No reason to worry
