I finally bought Bailey one of these but have not given it to him yet, anyone tried the antler dog bones?? I bought it at a bakery we went to yesterday and the woman said they do not splinter or break, was just wondering if anyone else has tried them?

I give them to my dogs all the time Doreen - they don't break or splinter, and they don't stink at all. They don't get slimy like bully sticks can sometimes. The dogs love 'em!

I've never heard of antler dog chews before but the idea is interesting.

Any chance of dogs breaking teeth on those? :dk Just asking because this is something our vet talked to me about last time we were there. She said she is seeing an increase in dogs with broken teeth from chewing on hard things...

Neither Karlie nor Kaitlyn (my chewer) will chew them. They do however love to play soccer with them on my tile floors, sounds just like china breaking. Goofy girls.

My trio absolutely love them! Won't splinter and are very healthy for the pups.

Antlers are a big hit at my house. Jasper really likes new bones but he seems to get bored of them and doesn't chew on them after the first day or so. I bought an antler last november and he still chews on it almost daily (it started out 1.5" diameter and about 9" long). I can't wait until december when I go to a fair with the same vendor so I can buy more.

I bought them for Bailey and Bentley. Bentley wouldn't chew on it - too hard for him. Bailey loved it, but after having it a few times we noticed that her tooth was cracked. I don't have total proof that it was the antler chew, but nothing else had changed in her diet. We usually give them their bully stick or denta chews for about 15-20 minutes each night and they are always supervised.

Bailey had to have surgery yesterday to remove her cracked teeth, so I don't want to take any chances and won't give it to her again. It may have just been a coincidence that her tooth cracked after having the antler chew.
