Hi :hi

I'm looking for a good, comfortable harness for Maddie to use for our trip to FL. Since she still has a raw spot on her neck(healing, but our trip is in about 3wks), I really don't want to use a regular collar (other than for ID purposes). I need a harness to be VERY comfortable for her, but also fairly sturdy in case she needs to be restrained in the car. Her skin is healing on her neck, chest, and front legs... so I really need her to be comfortable. :hp

I like a couple of styles, but I'm unsure and was hoping for some cocker-owner-reviews

I really like this one, but having trouble finding one in US dollars :gig

I've heard very good things about puppia harnesses... but just not specifically with Cockers. A couple years ago I got a knock-off brand, and the neck doesn't fit very well :( They're fairly expensive, but if they are as good as I've heard, it sounds like they're worth it :dk

and the planet dog fleece lined harness

I am open to suggestions / hoping for reviews :th-up

I have the petco version of the Puppia harness for Sophie, it works well, and is comfy and soft.

I've never been a fan of the fleece lined ones as i would think they would get too hot here in CA (i'd imagine the same would go for FL!)

I didn't even think about that! Though it'll be my luck I'll bring the cold with me :gig
I went ahead and invested in a Puppia harness... a "superior" one (has adjustable neck straps lol). In PURPLE :wink

Love, love, love our Puppia harness. I have a real puller and the harness gives me a lot more control. Little expensive, but I have 3 others that we don't use, so I guess that was money wasted. Plus
I just like saying "Puppia" :lol2

I crate my dogs for traveling. My Houdini Hannah can escape just about anything if I am not watching her.

What size did you get for yours? I seriously am thinking either I am WAY too picky, or Maddie is really inbetween sizes

I do like the one I got, but I'm not sure if its too small. The other one was way to big, though

Ok, so I have the puppia harness like the one in your first picture in "L"
the tag is marked as "soft harness". My Sambuca is a small cocker (I think) she is approx 22lbs. The only adjustment on mine is around the middle of her tummy. I thought it was funny to be buying a "L" for my little girl, but the shop I bought it at they got out the catalog for sizing
directions. Sorry I haven't checked back on this subject in a while.
So funny, she hates her harness, she runs and hides when I get it out. We only use it for walks. I put a coat on her last winter and she would not even move her feet, she just stood with her feet glued to the floor, when I took it off she went on her walk just fine.......so no doggy clothes for us :paw

The Puppia harness is great, but the L is too big for Poppy. She's narrow in the chest I guess. I haven't tried a medium to see if that fits.

After Poppy's disk rupture in her neck, I have to use a harness for all walks, per the vet's instructions. The Life's Little Paws (Cocker rescue) harness in large is a perfect fit. Poppy is 21 pounds.

Hope you found a good harness for your pooch!
