You know how on the Zim website, there is a link for useful cocker spaniel related products? They have a no-spill bowl that keeps their ears out of the dish. That's all fine and dandy, but it's plastic! Plastic breeds bacteria (as well as releases chemicals into water after exposure to heat) and should not be used for food or water dishes, but water dishes especially. It is great for travel, but I wouldn't recommend regular use of any plastic products for any animal. I finally, however, found an alternative that I am really excited about! I've been searching for a while, and these are perfect! They are handmade on a pottery wheel and sold by a woman on etsy (I am a total etsy addict, by the way) and I am going to pick up a set like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/159313372/3 ... h_type=all

No wet ears or bacteria for all!!! :YAY :Clap :joy

Very nice, but I have to wonder how well they would work. My girls (especially Abby) have short muzzles. I can't see my girls getting their muzzles into that bowl, if it was NOT pretty full, without putting their head past their eyes into those bowls :dk . Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't have a full water bowl for my girls 100% of the time.

Wow that bowl looks great.
I had found this site before: www.spanielbowls.com but shipping to Canada was quite expensive. So I found a local person to make a set for Charlie. It's very similar to the one on the Etsy page. I can post pictures later.
