Hi All :hi ,
SUNDAY UPDATE - SOLO PLACES SECOND
They almost had to call the paramedics for Mom because she just about fainted when the Ex B 16" standard results were posted and I was in second place :Clap !!! AKC agility gives a bonus for the 2nd place finishers by multiplying the MACH points by 1.5. This means my 12 points became 18 MACH points :joy :joy.
Rosey earned her 13th double Q today and has reach 400 MACH points. Only 7 double q's and 350 MACH Points to go. We are thinking that she might earn those last MACH points by the time the 2012 agility national come around. I don't have any double q's yet, but I do have 42 MACH points.
We aren't competing next weekend because Mom is doing taxes. We compete several times over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more updates.
:cool Solo
--------------------------------

This is Mom's Birthday weekend and she entered us in 3 days of agility (Fri - Sun). Well we weren't very good yesterday :sad , in fact, we were awful. But sheesh! It was 95 degrees! Neither Rosey or I q'd. Of course, Rosey "almost" q'd; I didn't.

Today it was much cooler and overcast when we did our jumpers run and (drum roll please), we both Q'd and PLACED IN THE RIBBONS (3rd place)!!! We have never been in the placement ribbons because we are in the very top class (Ex B), we aren't fast enough to beat out the really good agility dogs. But this weekend is the AKC Agility National trial and all those really, really good dogs are at Nationals :lol2. The jumpers run was very tight and lots of dogs had wrong courses.

Neither Rosey or I q'd in standard. Rosey missed the entrance to a tunnel (Mom was afraid she would miss it) and I had problems with a weave entrance (that Mom thought I wouldn't be able to get). But we tried hard and lots of dogs had these problems.

Tomorrow is more agility -- and there is talk of light rain :OMY . Sheesh it rained (hard) at this site last Sunday and we got all wet and our hair was heavy. We were knocking bars and slipping. Mom cut lots of our hair off so if we get wet we won't be so waterlogged this week.

Hi Solo,

Thanks for your report and please tell your Mommy :bday2 :cake for me. Though I don't really understand some of the fine terminology that you used, I do understand the words in the previous paragraph. Placement Ribbons and Third Place. :joy :YAY :Clap So, CONGRATULATIONS to you, beautiful Rosie and your Mommy! I am hoping for more of the same tomorrow and good weather too! :sun

:bday Colleen! And congratulations on the ribbons. I had never thought about it before that Cockers were at a disadvantage in some of the timed sports like that. I'm happy for you that this weekend you got lucky and managed to snag some placements. Excellent work! Congratulations.

Solo, what a wonderful birthday gift you gave your mom! :YAY Huge congratulations! :Clap :Clap :Clap

I'd love to see your mom and Rosey get that MACH at the National's here. That would make it so extra special.

We are still crawling along. :roll

Star,
There is no way that Rosey is going to earn 350 MACH Points between now and July :ROFL . You need to remember that Rosey isn't very fast (anymore, she is old!). S he averages about 2-3 MACH Points per JWW run and 7-9 points in Standard run. And that is when it isn't blazing hot! Mom is thinking that Rosey will have at most 14 days of agility runs before Nationals, so that is a total of 28 runs. Even if she was truly PERFECT, she would be getting around 125 MACH Points. It is "reasonable" that she will have most, if not all, of her double q's by July and probably another 50-60 MACH points. Frankly, it might be a stretch to think Rosey will earn all of her speed points to finish at the 2012 Nationals :roll .

:cool Solo (who has a whooping 42 MACH points and 0 double q's).

Oh, we don't really know the rules or requirements yet but it sounds as if you are moving along very nicely. Maybe when you are approaching the MACH we can fly out and watch you run your victory run! My mom loves to see that and even gets emotional when someone achieves what they've been striving for.
