So this year there's a few official Kennel Club trials within reach of my part of the UK, as opposed to the 'rival' / 'non-official' clubs that are within easy reach. Most of the KC ones have been north or north west, opposite end of the country, but they are gradually spreading south east. Anyway, we've been to 3 trials this year, different set of rules to learn, slightly different signs and interpretation of signs to get used to so it can be tricky to make sure to do the right version. You only need 3 qualifying scores over 170 to gain a level Title, and then you have to move up to the next level, but you can enter 2 classes at each trial of the lowest level you are eligible for and the next one up, but if you gain a 'qually' (qualifying score) at the higher level it also counts towards the lower one. Confused yet???? :dk Basically if you are working Levels 2 and 3 and you get a L3 qually, it will count towards an L2 Title, so Hetty gained her L2 Title at the 2nd trial after gaining 2 L2 quallys and 1 L3. Weird or what! Anyway, at the trial today Ellie also gained her L2 Title, so we will now be working L3 and L4, however Hetty already has 2 L3 quallys so if a miracle happens and she concentrates, she could gain a L3 Title in June and be onto Level 4 and 5! I'm really pleased with my girls, they worked very well today and got 4 quallys between them, we also amused ourselves with Pairs rally, a fun class where 2 people and 2 dogs work in unison, and we nearly got a qually in that one too. It was fun to try anyway! :th-up

Congrats on your achievements!!! I think I need to write program to visualize all these title requirements in a decision tree.

It's ridiculously complicated how they score and how you move up the levels - and it doesn't help that each rally organisation has its own rules and qualifications, but that's my problem for competing in all of them! Tomorrow Ellie & Lottie have a breed show with limited toy dog obedience, Ellie has not worked formal obedience (including scent!) in 2 years and Lottie has never worked it at all, so I am fully expecting a meeting of the butthead club tomorrow. :th-up
