Last evening I noticed Cooper was limping, and I thought he had a cracked pad on his front paw.
Now I don't think it is his pad after all, but maybe he has something else going on, like maybe sprained his leg jumping off of the couch. I put him in a crate with a bully stick so he would rest his leg. He was happily chewing on his prize for an hour or so. However, as soon as he finished his bully stick, Cooper started to whine and bark and then proceeded to howl. Bridgette must be feeling sorry for Coop, as she ran over to the crate and added her howling voice to his. Great, a howling duo!
Never a dull moment around here!

I hope he is ok.I would probably drive Simon crazy following him around to see if I could figure out what was wrong with him.

Hi Marianne! I'm so sorry Cooper isn't feeling well. :sad I hope it's nothing serious. In the last few months I've turned into a paranoid doggy mom and am watching Sophie closely as well. She's acting a little strange (if it's possible to be any stranger :tg ) and being ultra quiet and calm. I just noticed her favoring one of her back legs/feet too. I was thinking she might have something stuck in her pads but can't find anything.

Cooper is doing better, thanks.
He was favoring his leg a lot for a day, so I put him in a crate, and gave everyone a bully stick. Today he seems like he is back to normal, but I'll still try to limit his jumping just in case.

And I know he thinks I am nutsy. I looked at his foot/paw and couldn't find anything, rubbed up and down his leg, and he just kept looking at me like "What are you doing?" He is a funny one!

Carolyn, hope Sophie is feeling better!

Carolyn and Marianne:

Have you checked the claws? Gently push on the end of the claws. Mia once kept limping and after checking her paws and leg several times, we finally took her to the vet. When he checked her foot, he gently pushed and tugged on each of her claws. When he got to one of the claws, she yelped. It turned out she probably caught her claw in something and yanked on it enough to make it sore. The vet said it was similar to getting your finger or your fingernail bent back. He checked the claw to make sure it wasn't infected (since Mia was in remission from IMHA we always tried to avoid oral antibiotics) and then recommended reducing her walks and watching for increased pain for a couple weeks.

Hope both furbabies are feeling better.
