Apparently there is somewhere in my yard that has a weed/plant with those tiny little burrs. My pups came in last night and each have about 100 burrs in their ear fur. :bang :bang :bang Thankfully, they do not seem like they are in pain (unless I am pulling them out of their ears) and are only in their ear fur and not stuck in their paws.

Anyway, I need advice on how to best get rid of the burrs from their fur AND from the yard. It must be a seasonal thing because we have lived here nearly a year and it is just now starting to be a problem.

Has anyone else dealt with this before? HELP!

Ugh that stinks

Slicker brush followed by a comb is the best way I've found. Brush with the slicker brush a few strokes then clean out the brush w/the comb and drop into a trash. Repeat. Then comb. If you have one of those serrated matt breakers, you could try that first but you might break the coat in the process as well. Make sure you vaccume well afterwards so they dont repick up anything you've already taken out.

Be sure you check inbetween the toes nightly to make sure they dont pick any up there.

I would also check the insides of the ears as far as I could in case one slipped inside. Good luck!
