Dawn and Marianne

How COOL that you have the RV.
We'd love to travel across America that way.

Here is the link to the place we went today.

The place is actually called Calamigos Ranch.
http://www.calamigos.com/sample-page

Look at the images to the left on this page.
You'll see the logo's for the Malibu Cafe (where we were today) and the Paradise Cove (mobile park).
I've also listed the links below.

The Malibu Cafe at Calamigos Ranch
http://themalibucafe.com

And - check out Paradise Cove - It is listed on their page.
There is a cafe and mobile home park.
I wonder if the mobile home park has RV areas.

Arlo in his agility lesson today.

He LOVES it... Actually prances around when we enter the room.
Here he is doing his jumps and tire.

Is that Arlo's first time at class or attempting to learn this from anyone? You can tell he is liking it

Debbiefive
It is a private lesson - his 3rd.. That is his other mommy Melinda doing the work.
I plan on always watching.. Unless it turns out I take him faster :)

We are starting with these private lessons at the Zoom Room.
We are able to go and practice for 1/2 hour for $15 - very cool.
He loves it. And, for $5 each we can bring his pals. So, they can run around and play on the agility items.

The teacher said he did the seesaw really well. She said he is fearless!

We are so happy to have this for him to do.

Yay, Arlo! :YAY He is such a cutie, his puppy and big boy pictures made me grow nostalgic over my quickly growing pup. Plus Arlo is just so cute! Glad to hear he is doing better, he really is so lucky to have two Mommys who are as devoted as you. Koodos!!! :nw :nw

Thanks Marianne.
It is so wonderful to have something he likes this much.
We now use "jump" when we want him to get into the car or on the sofa etc.
Very cute.

Emma - I meant to also say I love your garden path. We did this in our Palm Springs home - but used diatomaceous earth in the pathway (stones elsewhere)...

Here is a photo of ours - It was the first full hardscaping AND landscaping I'd done.
it shows our putting green- fire pit and you'll see the garden path..

:)

Last night while having our cold refreshing watermelon- Arlo was watching with great focus.

So we looked it up and learned watermelon was ok for dogs.

We made him so happy getting his new dessert.

So now we have added a new requirement to our restaurant dining.
1- must allow dogs
2- must have melon.

Here we are waiting for our table.
Oooops- it won't let me upload photo on my iPad
I will upload image later.

I just posted a photo of Arlo's adorable face (to us :)..

And them BOOM - today the groomer takes a look at this eye when grooming...
And, WHAT does he see.

Cherry eye - Left eye.

6pm appointment with the Vet to:
1) see is she can massage it back in.
2) if so TEACH us the proper way while doing so.

My guess is that when Arlo gets the eye surgery any Cherry eye will be worked in then too.

Also found out the eye surgery will be $5,000 plus.... We joke that "there goes the cosmetic surgery".
But, then it's not really so funny.

Bless our boy. I was telling a childhood friend about it all today - and I burst into tears. Which means more to me because I am now "past the age". I said " oh dear.. I wonder if I am having a surge of hormones"... She said "No, Arlo's problems are enough"

Sigh

Leigh

Leigh, massaging a cherry eye back in is VERY easy.
There was a recent post with a video that showed hw it was done. Let me see if I can find it really quick, and I will post the link.

It worked!

Thanks Marianne...

I massaged it back in. I already had appointment with Vet so I had her look to make sure it was correctly back in.
It was :)

It is encouraging that it was so easily done.

Great! Glad to help!
My Bridgette would have a cherry eye pop out if she played too rough, which she definitely did and puppies do! We went thru this till Bridge was about a year old, then her eyes were 'tight' enough that cherry eye stopped popping. She is now 3.5 years old, and haven't seen one since.
BTW, I also had a senior rescue dog that would get a cherry eye if she went into weeds; the weeds irritated her eyes. I would use my contact lens saline solution to irrigate her eyes, and the swelling would subside, and I could massage it back in. Once we made the correlation with weeds=swelling, no more cherry eyes.

So, Arlo had a big graduation today.

He is 10 months old now .. and has been having more and more free roaming room in the house.

Melinda is up and out before me each day. So, Arlo goes into his xpen (which is set up in the kitchen) until I awake. I then let him roam and take him on his 2nd morning walk.

Today - I found him in the kitchen and no xpen. He was peacefully sleeping in the exact same area on the floor where his pen usually is. - Cute.

Access to other areas of house are closed off with gates we had custom made so our cats can fit through and the gates match the doorways.

The more adorable part was his little head was sticking through one of the gate openings. It is hard to believe that only a few months ago he ran through these openings :)

ANYway... I heard him whining with his head stuck through the gate by the laundry room. I did not have my glasses on .. so could not see perfectly. I went over to see what he was SO upset about wanting.. Figured one of his kibble food items had dropped. I mean he really wanted this thing..

As I bent down to look closely .. it was a tiny little drop of what we call here in the house "kitty almond roca" .... WOW! It was about 1 foot from the opening and he was that crazy for it.

Scooped it up and cleaned... He is now back to peacefully resting on the kitchen floor.

And, yes .. Same spot as if his xpen was up surrounding him.

It is these little moments in the day that I love him so.

:lol3 We refer to that as " kitty cavier"!

You have done so much for him! I am glad he's doing so well. My Annie was over two years old before we could trust her alone.

LOL "Kitty Caviar" - excellent reference.

Leaving Alone:
Today was a first and in a very limited area. He'll won't be left alone in the entire house because we have 3 Persian cats. Well not for many years I suspect.

But, actually - he does not need it. He's learned to be in "his" area's .. Where he feels most comfortable.

While Arlo has so many medical issues - he actually has been a really good boy. :Clap

Uh Oh .. Dawn has gotten me into these little smily icons - my favorite is the head beating against the wall :bang .
