I saw this yesterday on my husband's FB page. If I read it correctly, both dogs belonged to the family and were picked up running loose. The family only reclaimed the younger lab and left their old girl behind at the shelter. Shame on them. I could no more imagine leaving my elderly dog behind than any other member of the family. I don't know how people like this sleep at night.

I'm so glad that she was rescued. I hope her last years far out-shine her younger years and that her former owner(s) remaining year suck in every way. No, I'm not bitter. :smch
