After the owner died in a car accident the car was towed to a wrecking yard where they discovered a dog in the car. Animal control was called and the dog is now at the Riverside County Animal Shelter in San Jacinto. He is 8 yrs old, black and white and depressed. If anyone can pull him I would be happy to contribute towards his care. I work at Animal Samaritans in Thousand Palms and can use my employee discount for any spay/neuter and vaccinations he might need. I would pay the difference for him. I will work on finding a foster should one be needed, but my network is here in the desert. I would also be willing to take him to our adoption events. I know there are so many sad stories, but my boss' dog just died last night and I am full of sadness thinking of him and my own cockers. I really need to save one this week. My work email is enaumann@animalsamaritans.org and my work number is 760-601-3755. Thank you!

Oh, that poor dog. I hope someone can pull him. They may have to work with it if they ever hope to get it to ride in a car again. Years ago my husband was in an accident with one of my cockers in the car. Afterwards she refused to get in the car if he was driving ... and the accident was not his fault.

Good point Cindy, he will need someone to be gentle and understanding when in a car. I know I would be nervous after a car accident too.

I just saw on FaceBook that San Diego Spaniel Rescue has taken this guy in. Felix is currently undergoing his medical intake; once that is completed, more info will be posted on their website: SDSR.org.
